REGULAR MEETING MAY 29, 2012 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Whereas, AUSTIN is a member of the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church; loves <br />to play football; is a wrestler; and many of his teachers at Washington believe he is a great role <br />model for other students and the youth of our city. <br /> <br /> <br />Now, Therefore, be it resolved, by the Common Council of the Cityof South <br />, <br />Bend, Indiana as follows: <br /> <br />Section I. On behalf of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common <br />Council is pleased to publicly present to AUSTIN PRICE, a Freshman at Washington High <br />“ <br />School where he is part of the Medical/Allied Health Magnet Program, with the MAY 2012 <br />SOUTH BEND CITIZEN YOUTH AWARD”. <br /> <br /> Section II. The Common Council thanks AUSTIN for working and studying hard to <br />become a role model who reflects excellence through his academic performance, his positive <br />attitude, his leadership abilities, and especially through his many hours of volunteering for the <br />March of Dimes, AIDS Ministries, Real Services, Inc., and at the St. Joseph Regional Medical <br />Center. Congratulations and we wish you continued success in pursuing your career goals. <br /> <br />Section III. William, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for <br />this Resolution by first offering his comments and then reading this Resolution in its entirety and <br />presenting it to Austin Price. <br /> <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br /> <br />There was no one present wishing to speak to the council either in favor of or in opposition to <br />this Resolution. <br /> <br />Councilmember Oliver Davis made a motion to adopt this Resolution by acclamation. <br />Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried. <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4182-12 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> AWARDING JOHN SELLERS WITH THE “MAY <br /> 2012 SOUTH BEND CITIZEN AWARD” <br /> <br />, <br />Whereas the South Bend Common Council notes that many residents of the City of <br />South Bend contribute to the vibrancy and vitality of our entire community; and <br />, <br />Whereas the Common Council is proud to recognize that JOHN SELLERS grew up on <br />st <br />Forest Avenue; now lives on Blaine in the 1 District, and has been involved with the Near <br />Northwest Neighborhood (NNN) for many years; and <br /> 2 <br /> <br />
