July 2, 2012 <br />Members of the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend <br />4th Floor County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />RE: Resolution Approving the Contractual Services Agreement for the <br />Diversity Compliance Officer <br />Dear Council Members: <br />On behalf of the members of the Minority /Women Business Enterprise Utilization <br />Board, it is my privilege to present the attached resolution for your review and <br />favorable recommendation. <br />In May of this year, the Minority /Women Business Enterprise Utilization Board <br />( "MWUB ") recommended to Common Council and the Department of <br />Administration and Finance that the City of South Bend engageTrinal, Inc. as the <br />Diversity Compliance Officer for the City of South Bend. The recommendation was <br />adopted by Common Councilon May 14, 2012, subject to: <br />(1) Common Council's approval of the contractual services agreement to be <br />prepared by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend; and <br />(2) yearly budget appropriations. <br />The agreement was prepared and approved by the Board of Public Works. We now <br />present that agreement for review and favorable recommendation by Common <br />Council. <br />The MWUB is committed to working with Common Council, the Mayor's Office and <br />the Department of Administration and Finance to enhance economic development <br />in the City of South Bend by increasing the City's utilization of Minority and Women <br />Business Enterprises.
