<br />sign in question Is a0priximately 101 X 31, projecting, combination wood
<br />and metal,, not electric, weight estimated at about 175 lbs.
<br />About two weeks ago it was lowwred for repainting, Kale & Bryan had the
<br />contract for t h is work. Mr. I Manzi was in a hurry to have sign remounted and the a on -
<br />,tractors were short of men, so Mr. Mann took two of the contractorle men and undertook
<br />the work or remounting himself.
<br />No permit was taken, and non* is required, for this sort of work,, although
<br />this department should have been notified so that inspection could be made of con-
<br />struction. This was not done,, and �,this,departmart, had no information of the work being
<br />d one.
<br />In doing the work,, -the old -anchor belts were removed, and new expansion
<br />bolts substituted. These were evidently not properly set.,
<br />-'ign was not much damaged by its fall. It is now in rear room at above
<br />number, and it is intended to reset it sometime to -day. However Kale & Bryan have full
<br />charge of the work this time,, and through -bolts will be used. Department will also
<br />be,
<br />notified in time toinspect, work, which is designed to be in full accordance with
<br />Building Code. Very respectfully,
