Same read and placed on file. <br />The City Engineer filed estimated cost of grade, curb and walk on <br />east side of Brookfield Street from California Street to the first alley north <br />of Brookfield Street at.....................$450.00 <br />Pole and wire inspector reported as follows on compkniant about <br />telephone pole ar rear of 326 W. Nasarre Street being broke off at and of,pole <br />near grouald. <br />This is a Home Tel. Co. pole and.this pole should be removed entirely <br />the wires should be placed on the pole across the alley. The pole across the alley <br />is the Indiana & Michigan Light Co. pole which was ordered reset to the south <br />west about 3 to 5 feet. The order to remove this light pole was given about two <br />months ago. The pole has not yet been removed. No action taken on same. <br />The following c ommunicat ion received by W. D. Teeple, <br />Commissioner of Buildings, <br />City Hall, <br />South Bado, Ind. <br />Dear Sir :- In re Taggart Transfer Co., <br />I herewith enclose -letters and report in reference tothe moving <br />of a building for Mrs. Nevins by the Taggart Transfer Company. In connection with <br />this matter I herewIth report to your department and to the Board of Public Works <br />that I have made an invest igat ion of this matter and find that the statments made <br />in your report are correct. <br />The Taggart Freight and Transfer Co., is not owned or operated by <br />Mr. Taggart, but has been owned and operated by A. M. Russell and John. Russell for <br />a number of years past. Mr. John Russell being the manager..I called Mr. John <br />Russell to my office and explained the matter to him, and he assured me and con- <br />vinced me that he did not know that it was necessary to obtain a permit to move <br />a small building as this was moved on a dray. <br />He informed me that.the building was loaded on one of the <br />companys drays and that be personally saw that the dray did not interfere with <br />traffic and that be moved this building without any damage to the City or to anyone <br />else. He also assured me that in the future the company would make every effort <br />to comply with the rules and ordinances of the City and of all departments. <br />Under the circumstances therefor I recommend that no prosecution <br />be nstituted. <br />Yours very truly, <br />THOS .
