<br />Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for water
<br />connections on Blaine A*enue from'Lincoln Way West to Portage Avenue, under
<br />Improvement Resolution No. 577. In the City of South Bend, Indiana*
<br />Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published
<br />on the lat., day of August 1918 and on the Sth., day of August 1918 in the South
<br />Bend Faily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such
<br />assessments at it's office in the City Hall on the 14th:, day of August 1918 at 7:15
<br />P.M.
<br />Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contract be
<br />accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed Notice od this
<br />resolution shall be published on the'lst., day of August 1918 and on the 8th., dayof
<br />August 1918 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give &hearing
<br />on the accept&nce- of such work at its office in the Ciy Hall on -the 14th., day of
<br />August 1918 at 7 A5 P.M.

<br />LOCAL SEWER I PROVEMENT RESOLUTION RESOLUTION NO.. 582. 1918,
<br />resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,
<br />County of . St.. Jos6pk, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sever,
<br />intended and adaped only for local use by the property holders whose property abuts
<br />thereon, and not intended or adalbted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains,
<br />be and the same is hereby ordered in and along Columbia Street from Indiana Avenue to
<br />a point 75 feet north of thenorth line of Dubail Avenue as follows;to:Wit. °
<br />Beginning it the intersection of the center line of Indiana Avenue
<br />and Columbia Street; thence south along the center line of Columbia Street to a point
<br />75 feet north of the north line of Duba it Avenue with a 10 inch vitrified pipe sewer.
<br />Together with the necessary manholesm storm water inlets, conduits, and mouse con-
<br />nections to the property line along the line of said improvement, all as is more
<br />particularly showy and all in accordance with the pPofiles, plans, detail drawings
<br />and specifications on file in the office of the De artment of Public Works of the City
<br />of South Bend, Indiana, and said sewer, with all its ap; urtenances shall be constructed
<br />in accordance with the profile and specifications now on file in the off is a of the
<br />Department of Public Works of said City. The cost of said improvement shall be
<br />a portioned against and paid by the property holders whose proerty abuts thereon
<br />and upon the City of South Bend if the City is benefitted by said improvement, all
<br />according to the method nd manger provided for in Act of the General Assembly of the
<br />State of
<br />SndIana, entitled " An Act Concerning Municipal Corporations," approved
<br />March-,1918, Assessments, if deferred, are tg be #old in ten equal annual installment
<br />with interest at the rate of Six -per cent per annum. A bend or beads will be issued
<br />to the contractor in payment for such work, unless the property owners pay said
<br />assessments before said bond or bonds are issued. Under No circumstances shall the
<br />City of SouthLBend be or be held responsible for any sum or sums due from said pro-
<br />perty owner or owners .for said work, or for the collection of same, or for the pay-
<br />ment of any bond or bonds, certificate or certificates, issued to said contract in
<br />payment for such work, except for:such moneys as shall kjtnx have been actually
<br />received by the City from the assessments for such work, except for such moneys as
<br />sittdlOiEtyelit eby saidai6bove entitled Act required 'to pay. All proceedings had, and
<br />w-or k none in the making of said improvement, assessment of property, collections of
<br />assessments and issuance of bonds therefor, shall be as provided for,in said above
<br />entitled Act.
<br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the lat., day of August
<br />and on the 8th., day of August 1918 in the South Bend Daily Tribune. This Board will
<br />give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 21st., day of
<br />August 1918 at 7:15 P.M.
