All members present. <br />By Uftn imous consent of the Board it was doe ided to have the ,Lnter for <br />of the City Hall painted., and the Clerk was instructed to notify by letter all painters <br />and decorators sending a'copy of the following specifications: Bids for the same to <br />be received up to 10; 00 A.M. Tuesday June 18th.,1918. <br />S PEC IF ICAT IONS . <br />Wash off all- calmom-ine from all walls and ceilings, apply one coat <br />of s ize to a 11 unpwinted -we 11s, and °ce it fags; then to all walls and ce it ings apply two <br />coats of water color (or o�Utto it paint). -The above to include ent ire . ° building of City <br />Hall eac lus ive of boiler room and look -up rooms in basement of City Hall. <br />All toilet rooms to be done in water color(or flat oil paint). <br />All cracks and broken daces in plaster to be neatly filled up. <br />All oak window s ills to be cleaned and ref inished to match old f finish. <br />The dead for the conveyance of property of the Standard Oil Company <br />to the City of South Bend, Indiana located at the S. E. Corner of Lincoln Way`West and <br />Taylor -Street was taken up by the Board and the blue print submitted by the City Engineer <br />was approved and the following communication sent to the Standard Oil Company for action <br />by the City Chicago office. - <br />Standard Oil Company <br />South Bend,, Ind iana . <br />A-ttantlon. Gu ilf oyle <br />Gent lemen: - <br />In consideration of the Standard Oil Company conveying to the City of <br />South Bend by a proper deed the following described property situated on the southeast <br />corner of Lincoln Way West and Taylor Street in 'the City of South Bend: <br />Beginning at a point on the west line of lot 13 of Rebecca Studebaker's <br />Sub -Division of Bank Out Lot No. 3 thirty (30) feet south of the northwest corner of said <br />lot thirteen (13), thence north thirty feet (30) to the northwest corner of said lot <br />thence south. easterly along the northerly line of said lot thirteen (13) twenty (20) Feet <br />thence southerly on .a curve of thirty three (33) foot radius to the place of beginning. <br />The City of South Bend agrees to enlarge the street intersection and install <br />pavement, side walk and curb as shown by the blue print which is herewith attached and <br />made a part of this communication, and to pay all costs indid.ental to installing new <br />pavement and building sidewalk and curb. <br />Yours respectfully, <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. <br />• The following c ommunicat ion was received read and (laced on file. <br />June 191918. <br />Board of Public Works, <br />South -Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen - <br />I am enc los ing herewith a e ommunicat ion from Mr. E M.
