An 8 Horse power electric motor drives, a fax which. drives the air through <br />a system of hewing c,oils. From the heating coif the air is carried by a duet, which <br />is built in .connections With the smoke flue, up to the attic ,over the Courc it Chamber <br />a c ent ilua.t ioat of the duet carries the air above the ceiling of the Couac it Chamber and <br />f inallyv ischarg*s it through ceiling re►gistars into the Council Chambers. <br />The capacity _a f the motor, fait, and heat ing coils is ample t d heat the room <br />but there is such, a great loss of air clue to leakage and less of heut': due to insulation of <br />the attic duct that the system completely fails to heat the Council, ; number in' cold <br />we VA ther. _ <br />. There are two ways to overcame :the difficulty; exeby changing; the point <br />.of discharge of air into the Council Chamber and" use the prase equipmenR— ether <br />by juaiking the present equipment - anal • install isg .d iso ct rad iat ion. in, the Council Chamber, <br />The fovmer can,be done -by -stooping .the .present vertical air duct at tho <br />balcony level ix the Council Chamber and extending the same across the Council Cha,riber <br />back of the balcony baluster and placing register eiutlets Inthe balcony baluster. It its <br />estimated the, cost of this alteration will be about 1150.00 <br />To install direct radiation will necessitate the placing of 450 square feet <br />of cast iron rad iat ion on the Council Chamber floor and the running of proper risers <br />from the maims in the basement up to serve it. Company <br />ordered to move guy wire which is in the Bray of firs hydrant located at Hydraul is <br />Avenue and Starr Dill, also to remove a pole used jointly by these companies located <br />at same place. <br />The Board instructed W. D. Teelpo Aset. Commissioner of Buildings, <br />to notify Vernon C. Hastings to remove building condemned, heretofere at 214 North <br />Michigan- Street- within the: next five days.
