► March 26th. <br />Avenue Trunk Partialte and Ewing <br />.# 19737 34 <br />Mr. E `M. Morris met with the Board and read letter from J. H. Mellott <br />in regard to garbage-oontract, which was addressed to his. <br />v <br />The following report was presented by the City Engineer, read and placed <br />on file, the Beard ordering said petition -to be brought up later after they find 'out <br />if they can get money for Intersections. <br />Board of Public Works,. <br />South`Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen:- . <br />in regard to the attached petition for a pavement an Dayton Street, I wish <br />to report that there are approgim:ately thirty resident freeholders on the street <br />of whem eighteen have signed the petition for the pavement. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />FREDERICK J. ANDERSON, <br />City Engineer. <br />Bill of Wm.. F.-Wagner filed with the Board for C ity's share of installing <br />sewer connection at 744 Gleveland Avenue presented to the Board with bill due Harvey <br />Striebel on said connection. The Board instructed Harvey Streibel to pay his share, <br />and ordered that the bill for City's share should be placed on file. <br />The following resolution for adopted by the Board. <br />TRUNK SEWER D[PROVEMENT RESOLUTION No. 573. <br />RESOLVED By the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bead, County. <br />ef'St.'Joseph# State of Indiana: That it is desired and deemed necessary to con- <br />struct a sewer in Madison Street from Eddy Street to the let. alley east of Walsh <br />Street and in Sommers Street, from Madison Street to Cedar Street and In Cedar Street* <br />from the first alley east of;Eddy Street to the first alley east of Walsh Street all <br />In said City, which, from its size and character, is only intended andedapted for <br />use by property owners whose property abuts along the line of 'said sewer, but is <br />also intended and adapted for receiving seweage from collateral drains already con= <br />structed or which may be hereafter constructed, and the same is hereby ordered con- <br />structed isle and along the following line in said City, to -wit: Beginning at the <br />intersection of the centerline of Madison Street and the east line of Eddy Street; <br />thence east OR the center line of Madson Street to the center lin of Sommers Street <br />with a 30 inch circular sewer; thence Still east on the center line of Madison Street <br />to the venter line of Arthur Street with a 24 inch circular sewer; thence still east <br />on the center line of Madison Street to the first alley east of Walsh Street with an <br />18 inch circular sewer. Also: Beginning at the intersection.of the centerline of <br />Madison Street and Sommers Street; thence north on the center line of Sommers Street <br />to the center line of Cedar Street with a 24 inch circular sewer; thence east on the <br />ee&ter linq of Cedar Street to the center line of Walsh Street With a 24 inch cir- <br />cular sewer; thence still east on the center line of Cedar Street.to the first alley <br />eat -of Walsh Street with a _20 inch circular sewer. Also: Beginning at the inter- <br />sinter- <br />sest&= of the center line of Cedar Street and Sommers Street; thence westaloog <br />the center line of Cedar Street is the first Gilley east of Eddy Street with a 10 inch <br />c ircular .sewer. -Together with the necessary manholes, storm water inlets, e-onduits, <br />flush tanks and house connections to the curb line along the line of said improvement <br />And to be built in accordance with the profiles, specifications. detail <br />pleas, maps and estimates sow on file in the office of the Department of Public Works <br />Of said, City; The cost of the construction of said sewer shall be assessed and col <br />i*e't*d in the manner prescribed by law, pertaining to the construction of sewers by <br />1 of the Second Class. All of which said property beneficially affected lies <br />t the following described territory in th City of South .Bend eftat County of <br />ts%v eph* and State of Indiana, to -wit:- Beginning at' the ister"etion of the <br />w �h line of the first alley south of McKinley S*210 Avenue produced west and the <br />t line of the first alley east .of Eddy Street produced south; thence north along <br />--tt line of the first alley east of Eddy Street produced to the -north line of <br />;tom first alley north_ of Cedar.
