88 Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present. Mr. Staples of the Standard Oil Company appeared before the s Board in regard to selling Semd c Liquid Gloss for use in the City Hall. The Board ordered one half (j) barred of same at price .quoted of $.65.6 per gallon. / Mr. L. H. Webster appeared before the Board and requested an extension of time on the High Street and Ewing Avenue Trunk sewer system. The' Board unanimously granted an extension of time to complete said sewer system` until June lst.,1918. The following communication was received from Frederick J. Anderson, Chairman of the Examining .Board for positions in the Building Department. January 15,1918. To the Honorable Board of Public Works. South Bend, Indiana.' Carson requesting employment of a clerk, and in as much as the Board needed to employ additional clerical assistance in the Water Department, it was decided to employ Miss Clara Seiler as secretary to the Mayor at a salary of $65.O0 per month, the same to be paid out of the water works fund , with additional duties, as all extra --work in the water works department when not amp toyed th business. of the executAv4 department.
