A&F ENGINEERING I CITY OF SOUTHBEND I SCHOOL ZONE FLASHING BEACONS I DES# 1801240 <br />JOSEPH RENGEL, P.E., PTOE <br />PROJECT MANAGER <br />As Vice President of the Road Division at A&F Engineering, Joe's responsibilities include the oversight, design, and <br />inspection of roadway and traffic control projects within the right-of-way. Joe is a versatile leader with the skills to <br />manage in-house teams, coordinate sub -consultants, stay on top of project details and communications, and ensure the <br />project plan meets all expectations for the City of South Bend and stakeholders. Joe's competence and experience <br />allow him to be equally comfortable talking specs with team engineers, right-of-way with members of the community, <br />and dollars and cents with the City's team. <br />Joe has over 20 years of experience with the design and coordination of projects involving roadway and traffic control <br />design, including a number of flasher designs. Clients can rely on Joe's ability to manage large and variant teams and <br />deftly handle issues large and small that matter to stakeholders. From the client team, to the multi -disciplinary project <br />team to utilities and members of the community, Joe takes special care and attention to ensure all parties are kept up- <br />to-date with organized, transparent information that facilitates more efficient decision -making and problem -solving. Joe <br />graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He is a licensed <br />Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana. <br />MICHAEL FINGER, . <br />LEAD DESIGN ENGINEER <br />Mike's responsibilities include the design of complex roadway projects and the oversight and review of roadway design projects managed by junior <br />staff. Mike's engineering and design work is award -winning and recognized among the best in the state. His experience spans three decades and <br />includes project management, design, and inspection positions for INDOT, Johnson County, as well as A&F Engineering. His past field experience <br />allows him to incorporate practical constructability issues into his designs to minimize conflicts and delays during the construction phase. His design <br />experience spans a variety of complex road design projects, including,rural, urban, reconstruction, intersection improvement, and interstate projects. <br />One impressive example of Mike's expertise and efficiency was his management of the design for improvements to 1-74 and US 231. Mike ensured <br />the project met INDOT's ambitious timetable and the final tracings package was submitted just one month after the survey commenced. Mike <br />graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of <br />Indiana <br />DESIGN ENGINEER <br />As a design engineer, Steven has experience leading the development of final plans, specifications, estimates, and bid documents for roadway <br />construction and civil infrastructure improvements. He has worked on projects involving roundabout construction, intersection improvements, roadway <br />rehabilitations and reconstructions, right-of-way permit plans, and traffic, lighting, and signing design. Steven has a bachelor of science degree in civil <br />engineering from Purdue University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana. Steven has also completed INDOT's Utility <br />Coordination Certification. <br />MEGAN NELSON, RE. <br />DESIGN ENGINEER <br />Megan has experience in data collection, roadway design, and traffic <br />signal projects for local governments. Her relevant project work at <br />A&F includes structure data collection, design of roadway resurfacing, <br />signal design, and inspection of current pavement quality for INDOT. <br />Megan's recent project at US 231 and SR 150 in Loogootee, Indiana <br />focused her efforts on upgrading a super -elevated intersection to <br />facilitate better truck movement. Megan holds a bachelor of science <br />degree in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University <br />and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana. <br />E.I.BONNIE KING, <br />DESIGN ENGINEER <br />Bonnie has experience in both data collection and design of roadway <br />projects for local governments. Her relevant project work at A&F <br />includes structure data collection, design of roadway resurfacing, <br />and inspection of current pavement quality for INDOT. Bonnie's <br />recently designed a new drive way for the Klipsch music center to <br />become the fourth leg of a key intersection at 146t' Street and <br />Bergen Road. Bonnie holds a Bachelors degree in civil engineering <br />from Trine University and is a licensed Engineer Intern in the State <br />of Indiana. <br />
