The Board ordered that the Street Commissioner be notified to <br />guild a manhole in the &ewer in above mentioned alley, <br />The Board ordered that the salary of the Clerk in the Building Department <br />be -1ncrea'sed from Fifty ($50,00)Dollars' per month to Sixty ($60,00) Dollars per month <br />✓ same to start October 15th.;1917. <br />The Building Commissioner C. A. Perkins appeared befored the Board <br />and presented application filed by the School City to move portable school now located <br />at 15 22 W. Sample Street to corner of 9th. Street and Vine Street, The same was <br />refused by the Board. <br />The following communication was received, read and approved. <br />October 61P.1917. <br />Uorris, <br />President Board of Public Works, <br />City of South Bend, Ind.,, <br />Dear Sir :- <br />In regard to my request this morning asking permission for the Uichigan. <br />Central Railroad Company to be allowed to move our siding which crosses Franklin <br />Street, two and one harf feet in this street. . <br />This track does not clear our buildings six feet from the outside rail <br />/ as required by the Indiana State Law and the railroad Company advises they will not <br />J set cars for us on this siding until same is plate# in condition to comply with this <br />law. <br />We ask that the Board of Public Works grant us permission to shift this <br />track two and one half feet in Franklin Street., The Michigan Central Railroad Co., <br />to Flo the work and place street in first class shape. <br />Attached please find sketch of our factory locution and railroad tracks <br />into our plant.
