Hahnji"o print new record book he being' the lowest and best bidder. ` V4L W. Sibley, a )peered before the Board and requested permis�iox to, connect William Street sewer to Indiana Avenue sewer at intersection of William Street / and Indiana Avenue. The same was granted. Ups. Fears appeared before the Board i7A regard to connecting sewer with private sewer in the alley between William Street and Taylor Street and Jefferson. Blvd. and Washington Avt3nue. The Board ordered that the Street Commissioner be notified to guild a manhole in the &ewer in above mentioned alley, The Board ordered that the salary of the Clerk in the Building Department be -1ncrea'sed from Fifty ($50,00)Dollars' per month to Sixty ($60,00) Dollars per month ✓ same to start October 15th.;1917. The Building Commissioner C. A. Perkins appeared befored the Board and presented application filed by the School City to move portable school now located at 15 22 W. Sample Street to corner of 9th. Street and Vine Street, The same was refused by the Board. The following communication was received, read and approved. October 61P.1917. Uorris, President Board of Public Works, City of South Bend, Ind.,, Dear Sir :- In regard to my request this morning asking permission for the Uichigan. Central Railroad Company to be allowed to move our siding which crosses Franklin Street, two and one harf feet in this street. . This track does not clear our buildings six feet from the outside rail / as required by the Indiana State Law and the railroad Company advises they will not J set cars for us on this siding until same is plate# in condition to comply with this law. We ask that the Board of Public Works grant us permission to shift this track two and one half feet in Franklin Street., The Michigan Central Railroad Co., to Flo the work and place street in first class shape. Attached please find sketch of our factory locution and railroad tracks into our plant. The siding marked N.Y.
