4�b Concerning the improvement of the roadway of Fuerbringer Street from Cottage Grove Avenue to Sherman Avenue with as#halt, ashaltic concrete, bitulithie, or brick, in pursuance to resolution No.-.487 this being, the -day set for the preliminary award des ignat ing the kind of pavement, the Board at 10: OO A.M. this 17th. day of April pub l ie ly opened, read and considered all bide. And thereupon the Board designed Asphaltic concrete as the kind of pavement with which said street is to be improved and fixes the 28th. day of April 1917-at iftdO6rA.M, as the -time *hwa-petitions for changing the kind of pavement must be filed, and the Board hereby continues this matter until the 1st, day of May 1917 at 10: 00 .A . M. and all bids are hereby referred to the City Civil Engineer for -tabulation and report as to the lowest and beat bid.. Resolved further that notices be published on the 25th. day of April 1917 and on the 2nd . day Of May 1917 in a newspaper of general circulation in said City, stating that this Board will: received bids for the construction of pavement on 1st_. .alley west of Lafayette Street from Monroe Street ,to ,South Street and on HooBe Court from Chapin -Street to Scott, Street, also grade, curbs and walks on Various streets in the City up to.10:00 A:U. on the 8th. day of May 1917. The Board reserves the right to reject any an# all bids. Bids were submitted this date for pipe sewer on Dayton Street from Leer t/Street to 1st- alley east of Clyde Street as follows: - Staples &Ackerman grand total. Webster M no 11,473.90 The Board finds that tabulation shows that Staples & Ackerman to be the lowest bidders for the amount pf $18.00 and as said Staples & Ackerman has considerable work left unfinished from last year and are unable to complete this sewer for sometime to come, the contract is hereby awarded to Hoban &Roach, they being the next lowest bidders and being able to commence work immediately. Bontractors bond for the sum of One Thousand Dollars signed by Clyde Mat -thews approved by the Board. City Electricians report filed with the Board. Attorney E. Louis Meyers appeared before the Board and presented contract for the Chicago, Lake Shore & South Bend Railway Company to construct. tracks across Birdsall Street and across `certain.° alloy in the City, and the same was approved by the Board as follows, and referred to the Common Council for ratification:
