J Hearing given on Condemnation Resolution No. 48 for the purpose of <br />appropriating. a strip of land for the widening of Leer Street across the Lake Shore <br />& Uichigan Southern Railway Company right of way, in the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana. <br />In the above matter no remonstrators_ appeared and no written remonstrance <br />was filed. ' The Board being fully advised in the matter takes final action on said <br />resolution, c onf irm4ng without modification, all former action taken on the same. <br />The Board therefore declares the above property in all things condemned <br />and appropriated for public use, and the Board now orders that a list or roll be <br />prepared of all the owners or holders of property and of vaulable interests therein <br />sought to be taken or to be injuriously affected, which said list or roll shall also <br />describe the property benefically affected. <br />Councilman Andrew Seifert appeared before the Board -and requested the <br />Board to have cross walks placed on Coquillard Street about half way between Campau <br />✓ Street and Sorin Street. The same was referred to the Street Commissioner. <br />Also to place a light at the corner of Notre Dame Street and the Grand <br />Trunk Western Ry..Company right of way. This matter was referred to the City <br />Common Council. Also petition for an electric light at Robinson Street and the <br />New York Central Ry. Company right of way. <br />Ur. Samuel Rosenberg of the Vandalia::Ry. Company appeared before the <br />Board and presented blue prints showing proposed tracks into Studebaker tract <br />south of Sample Street and west of Franklin Street and requested permission to lay <br />sidetracks into same. The following resolution was approved by the Board. <br />Resolved by the Board of Public ,Works of the City of South Bend, <br />Indianai: that permission be granted to the Pittsburg,Cleveland, <br />C is innat i & St. Louis Ry. Company to lay side tracks into the <br />Studebaker Tract south of Sample Street and west of Franklin Street <br />• across Kendall Street, alley between Kendall and Scott Streets <br />and across Scott Street all as shown on blue print approved this <br />3rd. day of April 1917. <br />Clerk instructed to send copy of same to above mentioned Railway Co3, <br />Mr. H. E. Harter appeared before the Board and presented plat of <br />Harter Heights seennd Addition to theCity of South Bend, Indiana with following <br />dedication and the same was approved by the Board. <br />HARTER HEIGHTS SECOND ADDITION TO THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, ST. JOSEPH <br />COUNTY,STATE OF INDIANA. <br />The accompanying plat is a Sub -Division of the following described <br />real estate in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, to -wit: - <br />Beginning at the intersection of the east line of Leeper Avenue and the <br />north line of Sec. 1 Township-1, Township 37 Range 3, Bast thanee east (1281.88) feet <br />to the northeast corner of the North east of the northwest (1 quarter of Sec. 1. <br />Township 37, North Range 2, East , thence south along the east line of the north <br />west quarter of Sec. 1 Township 37, north Range 2, east to the Northline of Dallmans <br />Addition to the City of South Bend, thence west along the North line of Dallmanfs <br />Addition to the easterly line of Niles Avenue, thence northwesterly along the <br />Easterly line of Niles Avenue to the point of the intersection of the easterly <br />line of Niles Avenue and the east line of Leeper Avenue, thence north along the <br />east line of Leeper Avenue to the place of beginning. Except the following (Harter <br />Heights First Addition) beginning at the intersection of the East line of Leeper <br />Avenue and the north line of Sec. 1. Township No. 37 North Range 2, East thence East <br />along the said north line of Sec. 1. Township 379 north Range 2 East, a distance of <br />(49) forty nine feet, thence south along the line (49) forty --nine feet, east of and <br />parallel to the East line of Leeper Avenue, •a distance of (1041.82) feet thence - west <br />a distance of (32.35) feet to the easterly line of Niles Avenue thence• Northwesterly <br />along the Easterly line of miles Avenue a distance of (33.63) feet to the East line <br />of Leeper Avenue thence North along the East line of Leeper Avenue, a distance of <br />�1012.69) ft. to the place of be§inning, which plat shall hereafter be known as <br />Harter Heights Second Addition, an addition to the City of South Bend, St. Joseph <br />County, Indiana. <br />In all future conveyances , a description by lot number as the lots <br />are marked, and designed on this plat, shell be a good and cuff is ient description <br />of the land to be conveyed. <br />
