SIDEWALK . IMPROVELENT RESOLUTION NO. 499. 1917.
<br />All, Resolved by the Board. of Public Works of the City of South Bend,
<br />St. Joseph County, State of Indian,, That it is deemed necessary to improve VARIOUS
<br />STREETS IN THE CITY..
<br />That an improvement be made of the kind, size , location and terminal
<br />points as follows: -
<br />That bids be received for the construction and repairing of cement
<br />s idewa lks, curbs and for filling and exe,avat ing for said sidewalks ;and _curbs, on
<br />different strut in the City whero the same have already, een tartly constructed
<br />or are defective y eonstreutel, - All such work to be done a ter he owners of abutting
<br />property have been ordered and notified to construct or repa it such .sidewalks 'and curbs
<br />f or a period of 30 days from the dote ofany such notice.. '
<br />All work to be constructed or repaired in accordance with Standa6rd
<br />Spec if icst ions on file in the off ice of the City Engineer of said City.
<br />All work to be done and assessments made as providdd in section 1 of
<br />An Act entitled " Ak Act Concerning Municipal Corporations, " approved 1909, at page
<br />" 412 to 413". in accordance
<br />The cast o f said improvement, inc lud ing the.. cost of street and alley
<br />intersections, shall be assessed upon the real estate abutting on said Varlous Streets,
<br />in the CiVy all according to the method and manner provided for in an Act of the General
<br />Assembly of the State of Indiana, entitled, " An .Act Concernttgg Municipal Corporations,"
<br />approved March' 6,1905, and in accordance with and . pursuant to the provisions of ,all
<br />amendatory and suppement&l acts thereto, passed by -the General Assembly of the State
<br />of Indiana, Assessments, if -deferred, are to be paid in ten equal annual installments
<br />with interest at the, rate of Six per cent per annum. A bond or bonds shall beissued to
<br />the Eontraetor in payment of such work, unless the ftty Property owners pay said assessment
<br />before said bond or bonds are issued. Under .no circumstances shall the City of South
<br />Bend , be, or be held responsible for any sum or sums , due from said property owner or
<br />owners for said work or for the collections of the same, or for the payment fef any bond
<br />bonds, certificate or certificates,, issued to said contractor in payment for such work,
<br />excett for such moneys, as shall have been actually received by the City from the -assess-
<br />ments for such improvement, or such moneys as said City is by said absve entitled Act re-
<br />quired' to pay. All proceedings had, and work stone in the making of said improvement,
<br />assessment of property, collection of assessments and issuance of bonds therefor, shall
<br />be as provided for in said above entitled. Act and amend mats thereto.
<br />Notice of bids shall be published o the 29th. day of March 1917 and on
<br />the 5th. day df April 1917 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, This Board will receive
<br />bids in its office in the City Hall on the -17th. day of April 1917 at 10: 00 A.M. for the
<br />execution of the aforesaid work. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all
<br />b ids .

<br />known as River Parr, contract for which expires April 30th. ,1918.Spec if icat ions also
<br />approved. Clerk instructed to have following notice advettised.

<br />NOTICE FOR BIDS FOR STREET LIGHTING.
<br />Notice is hereby given that the Board of Public Works of the City of
<br />South Bend, County of St. Joseph, State of Indiana, will receive at its office in said
<br />City until 10: 00 A.M. on the 17th. day of Apr il,1917 sealed bids for furnishing art if ical
<br />light for the lighting certain streets in the City of South Bend, Indiana, in what was
<br />formerly known as River Park, all in accordance with plans and specifications which are on
<br />f ile in the off ice of the said Board.
