Purpose <br />The purpose of the Substance Abuse Program is to provide a safe, healthy, and productive work <br />environment in a workplace that is free from the hazards and effects of drugs and alcohol abuse. <br />The intent is to protect employees, customers, customer's property and assets and to provide <br />safe and efficient operations. <br />This policy applies to all IPR employees in accordance with applicable law. <br />2. Policy <br />IPR strictly enforces its drug and alcohol abuse policy. Employees found to be in violation of the <br />drug and alcohol abuse policy shall be subject to the disciplinary actions stated in this policy. <br />The health and safety of other employees, subcontractors, customers and the general public will <br />not be jeopardized or tolerated by any violation of this policy. <br />Business entertainment is often essential for Corporate, senior management and Business <br />Development functions to carry out the mission of IPR. Responsible, reasonable and <br />discretionary consumption of alcoholic beverages during business entertainment, meals and <br />functions is permissible as long as it is carried out responsibly. <br />3. Definitions <br />Employee — shall mean a person, including a contract worker, a leased worker, part-time or <br />full-time, who is paid by IPR to perform duties, tasks or services for the company. <br />Illegal or Illicit -- drugs/substances shall include, but not be limited to all forms of alcohol, <br />narcotics, depressants, amphetamines, hallucinogens and marijuana or any <br />controlled substances in which the use, possession or sale is prohibited by law. <br />Reasonable SuggIcion — a belief on objective facts sufficient to lead to a reasonable suspicion of <br />use of prohibited substances. <br />Under the h1luence -. (1) the presence of a prohibited substance in body fluids above the cut-off <br />level established by this policy or by our client's policy (2) the presence of a <br />prohibited substance that affects an individual in any detectable manner. The <br />symptoms of influence may be, but not limited to, slurred speech or difficulty in <br />maintaining balance. <br />#fir Wr I te,, Paraphernalia — is any unauthorized material or equipment or items used or <br />designed for use in testing, packaging, storing, injecting, ingesting, inhaling, or <br />otherwise introducing into the human body substances covered by this policy. <br />Phvsi i n- ra rjb d Medications tions — shall mean legal mood altering substances that shall include, <br />but not limited to narcotics, depressants, amphetamines, or other controlled <br />substances that can adversely affect work behavior, job performance, and the <br />ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. <br />SAFETYN EVERYONES BUSINESS <br />2187209,1 <br />
