Mayor Buttigieg spent the afternoon introducing Ford to members of the South Bend Common Council. "Scott will be a great leader for the City of South Bend's neighborhood and economic development staff," said Mayor Buttigieg. "This department is critical to the growth and quality of life in South Bend and Scott brings the vision, experience,and work ethic to make an immediate impact." Ford spent the last 10 years working professionally and studying in Washington,D.C., London,Miami,Rome,Pittsburgh,and Los Angeles in architecture and urban design. Originally from Detroit, Mich.,Ford studied Philosophy,Politics and Economics at the University of Notre Dame. In 2004,Ford earned an MPhil in urban economics with a master's thesis on British private sector adherence to new sustainable development policy in the United Kingdom as a Cambridge Overseas Society Fellow.Ford studied architecture at the graduate level at the University of Miami and holds a Master of Architecture degree from Notre Dame. Scott's educational and professional career has been focused on the life and health of cities and his interests lie at the intersection of design,planning,policy and development.
