VIII. Business of Director St. Clair <br /> 1. Director St. Clair presented the Board with a copy of the annual report sent to the Mayor. <br /> He also listed a summary of the Department's strategic goals and how activities relate to them. <br /> 2. A design charette was held regarding Howard Park. Whiteman Petrie is putting <br /> together a few of the concepts to see how the upgrades could be done. Rotary wants to <br /> use Howard Park as their 100`s year anniversary project. He hopes to bring a proposal to <br /> t he Board regarding Howard Park. <br /> 3. We are looking at a property in Blackthorn area as a home for Miracle Park. <br /> 4. Voorde Park construction is ongoing. <br /> 5. The CAPRA accreditation team will be coming in July to do their five year assessment. <br /> 6. He thanked Mike Dyszkiewicz for organizing the storm damage plan for the City. A <br /> meeting will be held with the Administration next week to present the plan. <br /> He thanked Susan O'Connor for hosting the IPRA northern district meeting last week. <br /> IX. Comments by the Marketing Director <br /> 1. Mr. Bradley reported that Parks Foundation Board is developing their own logo and <br /> newsletter. <br /> 2. The Healthy Communities project will be holding a community focus meeting next week. <br /> Stake holders will be coming in to set directions for next year. <br /> 3. The Blues and Ribs fest news conference will be held next week to announce the change <br /> of venue and bands for this year's concert. <br /> 4. Sponsorships are going well for the Blues Fest. <br /> 5. An online program evaluation form is being implemented. <br /> X. Comments by the Recreation Director <br /> 1. Ms. O'Connor reported that the Ice Rink is closed for the season earlier than planned due <br /> to the warm weather. Total attendance was 10,400. Sixty sessions were lost due to weather. <br /> 2. The Northern District IPRA meeting was hosted last week and 75 attended. <br /> 3. 100 softball teams have registered to date. Play begins on April 27. <br /> 4. 319 have registered for Camp Awareness and 31 spots are left. <br /> 5. The Mom/Son dance will be held at the Palais Royale will be held this Wednesday. 323 <br /> are registered so far. <br /> 6. River City basketball league ended last weekend. <br /> 7. 320 people attended the Camp Fair on February 25. <br /> 8. The City Wellness program is being planned for the year. <br /> XI. Comments by the Interim Zoo Director <br /> 1. Ms. Arriaga said a great Winter Day was held. <br /> 2. A recent USDA inspection was passed. <br /> 3. She is still looking for a pony supplier for pony rides this year. <br /> - - 4 - - <br />
