IX. Business of Director St. Clair <br /> 1. Director St. Clair presented his annual report to the Board. President Henry thanked the <br /> staff for their dedication and hard work. <br /> 2. Director St. Clair reported that the Park Department is formulating plans to oversee <br /> storm damage for the City. <br /> 3. The Park Department is taking oversight of the City Wellness program. <br /> 4. The Belleville playground rebuilding project will begin soon utilizing insurance <br /> proceeds. If there are any excess funds,they will be used for playground equipment in <br /> Howard Park in conjunction with the Rotary Club. <br /> 5. The Mayor will be at Martin Luther King,Jr. Center on February 23 for a ribbon cutting <br /> ceremony for the environmental upgrades at the Center. <br /> X. Comments by the Maintenance Superintendent <br /> 1. Mr. Mike Dyszkiewicz informed the Board that a climbing wall was donated by the <br /> ICE facility and will be installed in the O'Brien gym. <br /> 2. The forestry division has been working at Elbel instituting the master plan and opening <br /> up the fairway on#I to allow more air movement and make it more playable. <br /> 3. A new storm damage manual is being put together. <br /> 4. A hand railing is being installed at the Erskine clubhouse. <br /> 5. Central Mowing has received 400 citations for lots to be mowed. <br /> 6. Twenty-four locations have had graffiti removed due to the warmer weather. <br /> XI. Comments by the Development Director <br /> 1. Mr. Payton informed the Board that an electronic email will be going our twice a month <br /> highlighting our programs and information. <br /> 2. Our website will be reflecting any awards and recognitions. <br /> 3. A $2,500 grant has been received from the Convention and Visitor's Bureau for <br /> advertising for the Blues Fest. <br /> 4. He gave an update on sponsorships and the CAPRA process. <br /> XH. Comments by the Recreation Director <br /> 1. Ms. O'Connor reported that the Daddy-Daughter Dance was held two weeks ago and <br /> 1,080 participated. <br /> 2. We will be hosting a Dining with Diabetes program as part of the City's Wellness <br /> program. <br /> 3. The annual Camp Fair will be held this Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm at the O'Brien <br /> Center. <br /> 4.Next week on Tuesday,registration for Camp Awareness and Kid's World will start. <br /> 5. The Ice Rink attendance has been erratic due to the changes in weather this winter. 80 <br /> skaters were on the ice this morning. <br /> XIIL Comments by the Golf Director <br /> - - 4 - - <br />
