SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PARK CONMUSSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> FEBRUARY 20, 2012 <br /> The Board of Park Commissioners of the Park District of the City of South Bend, Indiana met on <br /> Monday February 20, 2012 at the O'Brien Administration&Recreation Center, 321 E. Walter St., <br /> South Bend, Indiana for its regular meeting. Notice of the date,time and place of the meeting were <br /> duly given as required by law. <br /> Park Board members present were as follows: <br /> Mr. Robert Henry,President <br /> Mr. Robert Goodrich,Vice President <br /> Ms. Amy Hill <br /> Mr. Garrett Mullins <br /> Park Board members absent were as follows: <br /> Staff members present: Phil St. Clair, Superintendent; Bill Carleton,Fiscal Officer;Betsy Harriman, <br /> Administrative Director; Susan O'Connor,Recreation Director; Randy Nowacki,Director of Golf <br /> Operations; Richard Payton,Development Director; Mike Dyszkiewicz,Maintenance <br /> Superintendent; Cheryl Greene,Park Board Attorney <br /> I. The meeting was called to order by Board President Robert Henry at 4:01 p.m. <br /> IL The first order of business was the interviewing of interested citizens <br /> 1. Mr. Greg Kil gave an update on the South Bend Parks Foundation. They helped sponsor <br /> the Holiday Tree Lighting downtown. <br /> They have met with the Botanical Society to underwrite an open house they are planning for <br /> May when the conservatory project is done. <br /> The Blues Fest is coming up in June and they will be and they will be helping with that <br /> concert. <br /> They will be helping to underwrite the Potawatomi Summer Concert Series at the Chris <br /> Wilson Pavilion. <br /> III. Comments by Potawatomi Zoological Society <br /> 1. Ms. Dean reported that over 350 visitors took advantage of the second Winter Day at <br /> the Zoo. <br /> 2. The USDA exhibit permit has been obtained for the butterfly exhibit and the <br /> butterflies are being ordered. <br /> 3. The Zoological Society's audit review was completed and no issues were found. She <br /> will bring the approved audit review to the April meeting. <br /> 4.
