3. This is a divisible bid and may be awarded by division. <br />ll:�iel'LN II?Lc%j urtlU kj, <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: 2018, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 103 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. The successful Bid provider shall supply the following bonds: <br />a. Payment Bond within seven (7) days of Notification of Award for an amount equal to <br />one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. <br />b. Performance Bond within seven (7) days of Notification of Award for an amount equal <br />to one hundred twenty-five percent (125%a) of the contract amount. <br />2. In the event that the Bidder fails to provide the Performance Bond and Payment Bond <br />within the prescribed seven (7) calendar days noted above, the Owner reserves the right <br />to reject the contract and/or contract award for failure to furnish the Performance Bond. <br />X. CONTROL OF WORK <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: 2018, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 105 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. The complete responsibility for this project lies with the Director of Public Works of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana acting through his authorized representatives. <br />2. This Project is being undertaken under the authority of the Unsafe Building Act, IC §36-7- <br />9-1 et seq. which is subject to certain administrative hearing procedures. Accordingly, the <br />City reserves the right to add or to delete properties from the listing of properties <br />proposed to be demolished during the term of the contract and to adjust the <br />corresponding contract sum. <br />3. The sites are not publicly owned. They are still titled to private owners. The City and its <br />Contractors are allowed on the site solely for the purpose of correcting unsafe conditions. <br />Only activities directly pursuant to completing this work may be undertaken while at the <br />sites. <br />4. The City assumes no responsibility for the actual condition of the structures to be <br />demolished. The person employed by the Contractor to survey or verify the condition of <br />the structures shall be licensed as required and/or shall possess specific experience and <br />training so as to be competent to determine the condition of the structure and the <br />possibility of any unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure and to take prompt <br />corrective action as necessary. <br />5. Contractor shall ensure that the structures are vacant prior to commencing any demolition <br />work. <br />6. Construction Engineering - The Contractor shall provide all the necessary, qualified <br />personnel, equipment and supplies to perform all work required under this item.
