Talboom Deputy <br /> <br /> <br />REPORT FROM THE SUB-COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br /> <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: The sub-committee has inspected <br />the minutes of the January 23, 2012 Meeting of the Council and found them to be correct. <br /> <br />Therefore, we recommend the same be approved. <br /> <br /> s/Derek D. Dieter <br /> s/David Varner <br /> <br />Councilmember Scott made a motion that the minutes of the January 23, 2012Meeting of <br />the Council be accepted and placed on file. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the <br />motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes <br /> <br /> <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS <br /> <br />SWEARING IN OF CITIZEN MEMBERS SERVING ON STANDING COMMITTEES <br /> <br />Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand stated that the South Bend Common <br />Council is making history tonight in light of that this is the first time that sixty-four (64) <br />individuals have applied to sit on one of the ten (10) standing committees that have <br />citizen members. Clerk John Voorde will administer the oath to those individuals. <br />Thirteen (13) have been selected so far. She stated that this great response is a reflection <br />of how interested the citizenry of South Bend are to get involved.
