The Board met in regular session at 7:45 P.M. Mr. E. M. Morris <br />President absent. Mr. A. H. Rice acting president. <br />Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 475 for ,Resurfacing <br />of. La Porte Avenue from Washington Avenue to north line of Linden Avenge, In the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance <br />was f iled. And the Board be ing f ully, adv ised in the premises, doe ides that:.. the <br />benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal tothe <br />estimated cast of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon <br />takes final action on said resolution as' originally adopted, and the same is hereby <br />in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. <br />Resolved ° further, that notices .be published on the llth.day of October <br />1916 and on the 18th. day of October 1916 in a newspaper of general circulation in <br />said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said <br />improvements up to 10:00 A.M, on the 31st. day of October 1916, The Board reserves <br />the rightto reject any and sail -bids. <br />Hearing given on roll showing awards of damages and assessmente of <br />✓ benefits( damages and benefits equal) in the matter of Vacation Resolution No. 30 <br />for the Vacation of Street and alleys in Stover-Lon.gley Addition, In the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />In the above ma*ter no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance <br />was filed. The Board therefore declare the above roll filed September 12th.,1916 <br />in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. <br />Property owner on Robinson Street appeared before the Board and presented <br />a petition for a street light at Robinson Street and the New York Central Railroad Co. <br />✓ tracks. The same was placed on file to be investigated. <br />Contract for water connections on Euclid Avenue from La Porte Avenue <br />to Walnut Street awarded to Wm. H. Burke. <br />'Contraet for water connections on Ba Porte Avenue from Washington Avenue <br />to -North line of Linden Avenue awarded to Wm. H. Burke. <br />The Board approved plan for cutting of curve at southeast corner of <br />Miami Street and Lincoln Way East. City Contractor ordered to take care of same. <br />Concerning the improvement of the roadway of Euclid _Avenue from La Porte <br />Avenue to Walnut Street in pursuance to resolution No. 46B the petition of 'free- <br />61� holders residing on said street is considered and the report of the City Engineer <br />is received and all evidence is heard, and the Board finds that said petitioners <br />constitute a majority in number. of the resident freeholders residing on the street <br />to be improved, and that said petition 46 sufficient and it is therefore considered <br />and adjudged that said improvement be made with asphaltic concrete Trinidad Lake, <br />hhe kind of pavement requested in said petition; and the City Engineer reports that <br />the W. B. Brady Construction Company is the lowest and best bidder for said kind <br />of pavement, and the Board so finds, and lets the contract for said improvement, <br />to him, and orders that said improvement be made with Trinidad Lake Asphaltic <br />Verne and all proceedings heretofore had in this matter are hereby confirmed and <br />gpprovec. <br />Attested:.. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS A.
