J RE?O T OF THE BOARD Or PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. Sewer, water and gas connections*on La Porte Avenue from Washington Avenue to the north line of Linden Avenue. TO .THE HONORABLE COUNCIL:. - gentlemen:. The Board of Public Works herewith presents its report for the following sewer, gas and water connections. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. E . U-1 . MORRIS PRESIDENT. RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD 0' PUBLIC ?FORKS NO. 474. On motion duly made, nd seconded, the folloir_g preamble and resolu- tions were unanimously edopted:-- Whereas, This Board did on the 25th. day of July 1916 deem it expedient and of public utility to permanently imrove La 'Porte Avenue between Washington Avenue and the north line of Linden Avenue, by paving the roadway of the same, and did on the said date pass and adopt a resolution authorizing said permanent improvement, and WHEREAS, The City Engineer has prepared and filed with this Board a report showing the number and location, as well as the material to be used and the manner of laying the same,: -of the service pipes, mains, conduits laterals and connection which are, or will be, necessary to accommodate the abutting property owners with gas, :eater, heat , steam or any other product for which any person, firm or corporation has been granted a, franchise for su plying`•the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, which report is on file in the office of the Board of Public Works. BE IT RESOLVED, That said re"ort of said City Engineer be and is hereby adopted " And he it further Resolved, That it is contemplated by this Board to improve La Porte Avenue from Washinp?ton Avenue to north line of Linden Avenue all in said City .of South Bend, by resurfacing pavement, and th#t it is, and is hereby so declated, necessary `'or. the Northern Indiana Gas & Electric Company, which has, pand operates under, a franchise from said City to supply gas to the citizens of said City, to provdde. and install mains, laterals, service Dipes and connections for gas in said part of said street, of the description, location and number set forth in,said report of said City Enginerer, which mains, service pipes And con- neetions are hereby declaudd necessary for the immedi4te use of said company in supplying Pgas to the owners of property abutting upon saidpart of said street.
