LlU <br />Board met in regular session a+4 7 45.T.M.-Mr.'John B `Weber absent. <br />Fearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 462 for cement walk �:nd <br />curb on Ninth Street from Pleasant Street to the St. Joseph River, In the City <br />tf South Bend, Indiana. <br />U15on said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances <br />were filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises-, decides that the <br />benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvments are equal to <br />the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and <br />thereupon. takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the <br />same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 4th. day of August <br />1916 and or, the llth. day of August 1916 in a newspaper of general circulation <br />in said. City, stating that this Board will reeeive bids for the construction <br />of said improvements up at to 10:00 A.M. on the 22nd. day of August.1916 <br />The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. <br />Petition for concrete pavement on Euclid Avenue from La Porte Avenue <br />to Walnut Street was filed with the Board. Resolution ordered prepared. <br />Petition filed for a trunk sewer, pavement and water on Division <br />Street from Olive Street to Meade Street with a lateral sewer and from Meade St. <br />to Chicago Street with a trunk sewer. The Board placed the same on file until <br />Spring 19179 at which time the same would be given consideration. <br />Petition for a water main on West Monroe Street from Olive Street to <br />Meade Street. The same was referred to the City Water Department for investiga- <br />tion. <br />Mr. E. W. Lindsey Foreman of underground work for the Central Union <br />Telephone Company with Mr. T. H. Beaning, Pole and Wire Inspector appeared before <br />the Board and discussed underground work for their company in this city. <br />The Board instructed the Clerk to notify the Street Commissioner <br />to open William Street between Colfax Avenue and La Salle Avenue. <br />The following resolution was approved by the Board. <br />R E S 0 L U T I 0 N. <br />v WHEREAS, there are now existing sewer connections on South Michigan <br />Street between Monroe Street and South Street which are not sufficient depth <br />to take care of the floor drainage of buildings that might be erected thereon. <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works it is hereby ordered in <br />that all property owErs having such sewer connections shall have them lowered <br />so that their depth shall be not less than Ten (10t) feet deep from the top <br />of the curb. <br />It is further resolved by the Board. of Public Works that said work <br />shall be finished and completed within Ter_ (10) days. <br />It is further Resolved that the Board of Public Works will refuse to <br />grant any property ower the privilege of cutting into said pavement after the <br />pavement is constructed during a period of Five (5) years. <br />The Clerk is instructed to send a copy of this resolution to each <br />and every property owner who have sewer connections Ten (101) feet from the top <br />of the curb. <br />E.
