104 <br />Board met in adjourned meeting at 10:00 A.M. All members present. <br />A number of property owners on Michigan Street appeared before the Board in the <br />interest of the type of pavement to be keleeted and to hear petitions read. <br />This being the day set for the filing of petitions up to 10:00 A.M. by <br />resident free holders on Michigan Street from North line of La Salle Avenue to the <br />South line of South Street and on Indian. Avenue from Leer Street to Kemble Avenue to <br />name the kind of pavement. Petitions were received -on the following types of pavement. <br />On Michigan Street, Asphalt s. rd B et Ind is na, Sheet Asphalt and Asphe:lt i e Concrete, <br />the same were opened and rear,`andnpu c y checked petitions. <br />Atty. Lambert appearing before the Board in the interest of the pp rop erty <br />owners vwnt ing asphalt on Wichigan Street and Indiana Avenue. Atty. L. J. ?are appear— <br />ing for property owners wanting brick pavmmant on Mic hi ern Street. <br />.Atty. L. J. Oare representing property owners wanting Michigan Street paved <br />with brick challenged -the following names on Asphalt petition. Merchants National Bank <br />S.S. Kresge Co, Chicago, South Bend & No. Ind. Ry. Co: American Trust Co. and F. G. <br />Collmer., Margaret Kilmer, <br />Atty. Lambert representing ) mperty owners �­ant ing Asphlat pavement on <br />MiMbiga.n Street challenged the following names on the Brier petition. Alfred Lindahl, <br />Grace Ort, Frank Collmer Ideal Laundry & Dry Cleaning Co. <br />1916. The Board continued this meeting until 2; 15 P.M. this 19tho day of April <br />President. <br />Wednesday April 19th. ,1916 <br />Board met in adjourned session at 2:15 P.M. All members present. City Attorney <br />Seebirt present. <br />The Board having cbzcked petitions for asphalt signed by property owners <br />on Indiana Avenue between Kemble and Leer Street and petitions for asphaltic concrete <br />bigned by resident property holders on Indiana Avenue between Kemble and Leer St. <br />signed the following resolution. ( Atty. Lambert, Attorney for the property ovmers <br />wanting asphalt conceded to the Board that the Asphaltic Concrete petition had a <br />majority of resident property holders.) <br />Concerning the improvement of the roadway of Indiana Avenue from Kemble Ave. <br />to Leer Street in pursuance to resolution No. 416 the petition of freeholders <br />residing on said street is considered and all evidence is heard, and the- Board finds <br />that said ,petitioners do not constitute a majority of the resident freeholders resid-a <br />ing on the street to be improved, and hereby denies said petition, and the City <br />Engineer reports that W. B. Brady Construction C­. is the lowest and best bidder for <br />the kind of pavement heretofore n dopted by the Board,. and the Board s0 finds, and lets <br />the contcabt for said improvement to him, and orders tnat said improvement be made <br />with Trinidad Lake Aslihaltic Concrete and all prodeedings heretofore had in this <br />matter are hereby confirmed and ratified. <br />APril 19th.,1916. <br />E.
