Board met in rdgular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present. <br />Atty. L. F. Meyers appeared before the Board in regard to permission to <br />place freight depot at La Porte Avenue and Colfax Avenue. The Board took this matter under <br />advisement until Tuesday April 25th. ,1916 at 10:00 A.M. <br />Mr. Engeldrum appeared before the Board in regard to having an alley between <br />Main Street and Lafayette Blvd nd Bartlett end Navarre Street paved. No action was taken. <br />Instructed to have petition signed for the same. <br />Petition received for brick pavement on Stull Street from Michigan Street to <br />Franklin Street. The same was referred to, _the City Engineer for investigation. <br />Petition for pavement on Fuerbringer Street from Sherman Avenue to Cottage - <br />Grove Avenue. The same was referred to the City Engineer for investigation. <br />Building Commissioner Perkins with Mr. C . Smogor appeared before the Board <br />in regard to tree erection of a hall at 1321 Fisher Street, in accordance with Building <br />Code. No action was taken. <br />The following petition was received and referred to the Common Council <br />as the Board has no jurisdiction over Street cn rs. <br />PETITION. <br />o the Honorable Board of Public Works, <br />ity. <br />At a recent meeting of the Oliver and Sample Civic Centers the question of Street <br />car service has been discussed and the consensus of opinions is that the service is in- <br />adeguate both as to frequency and to size of cars. ` <br />At present there is only half hour service on both the Chopin nd Sample Street <br />lines, and during rush hours the, cars are much too small to accommodate the crowds. We would <br />suggest and reppectfully request fifteen minutes service with larger cars on both lines, <br />Therefore, we the undersigned, residents to the Chapin -,:nd Sample Street districts hereby <br />petition your honorable body for the improvement as above outlined. Signed by about eighty <br />residents. <br />The Clerk was instructed to write to Civic Clubs and inform them that this petition <br />was turned over to the Common Council for consideration. <br />The City Civil Engineer filed the following estimated costs , <br />Estimated cost on Pavement on alley west of Lafayette Street from Colfax <br />Avenue to La Salle Avenue at ... $1.280.00 <br />Estimated cost of pavement improvement on Hoose Court from Chapin Street to <br />Scott Street at ..... $1.540.00 <br />Estimated cost of pipe sewer improvement on Francis Street from South Bend <br />Avenue to Sorin Street at .... $1.900.00 <br />Renewal certificate of Bond No. 975696 sued by Charles Pavey and the <br />American Surety Company approved. <br />Renewal certificate of bond No. 779331 signed by South Bend dome Tel. <br />Company and American Suety Company approved by the Board. <br />Guarantee bond for the' sum of Six hundred and Vventy four dollars signed <br />by 0. H. De Frees on North Michigan Street resurfacing approved by the Board. <br />Excavation bond for the sum of One Thousand ( 1,000.00Dollars signed <br />by the Aslin Plumbigg Company a proved by the Board. <br />Communication from Charles Coonley in regard to type or pavement on <br />RI rst alley west of Lafayette Street between Colfax Avenue and La SallE Avenue was <br />read-�-anal g�aeed on file. <br />
