Board met in regular session at 7:45 P.:-A. Mr. E. M. Morris absent. Air. A. H. Rice acting President. Remonstrance was presented signed by .fifty property owners , remonstrating against the Board permitting said Chicago, Lc-.ke Shore and South Bend Railroad Comps: ray to use said Company's property, located between La: Porte Avenue and Colfax Avenue as a freight yard.nd placing freight depot and %ruling freight trafts through the City to La Salle Avenue. The same was reed and ply, ced on file. A Committee of rive business men, represented by Mr. Brandon as President appeared before the Board from the Cho -tuber of Corrnneroe in to hRvlag down- to-bYn ;streets sprinkled or flushed at night so as to settle the dust$ as they stated it was a detriment to their business. The Board took the above matter under advise- ment Mr. McNabb and Mr. Cook representing the Plumbers Assoc. appeared before .� the Board requesting that a licensed plumber be employed by the City. Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 4A for the pipe sewer on Indiana Avenue from Prairie Avenue to a point 100 feet west of the west line of Kembl:_ Avenue. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrance was filed. The Board after due consideration decided to defer all action on said Improve- ment until Tuesday April 19th.,1916. at 7:45 P.M. Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 421 for the Pavement on Indiana Avenue from Kemble Avenue to Prairie Avenue, In the City of South Bend, Ind ie na In the above matter no remonstrators appeared end no remonstrance was filed. The Board after due consideration decided to defer all action until Tuesday__ April 4th.91916 at 7:45 P.M. Deferred hearing had on Gravel pavement tnd grade on Pokagon Street from Tecumseh Avenue to right of way of the Michigan Central Ry. Company,under ell Improvement Resolution No. 419. In the City of South Bend,Indiana. The Board after due consideration decided that said improvement be defer deferred until Tuesday April llth. ,1916. at 7:45 P.M. Renewal certificate signed by L. H. Webster for One Thousand Dollar excavation bond w. s a,. -proved by the Board. The following One Thousand excavation bonds were approved by tl* Board. Joseph B. Fleck, and the London &nLaneashire Indemnity Company of America. Fred P. Futter, and London & Lancashire Indemnit; Company of America, approved. ✓ A. J. McKinley, and London & Lancasnire Indemnity Company of America, John G. Kestler, and London do Lancashire Indemnity Company of America. Contractors bond for the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00 )Dolls\rs ✓ signed by Stanley E. Cowles, was approved 'by the Board. Councilman, Seifert appeared beffdre the Board in regard to having South St. Louis Street :'rom Jefferson Blvd. to Division Street, taking care of, starting the same needed pavement. The same wqs taken under consideration. Contra at for the p-pe sewer on Hoose Court from Chapin Street to 100 feet west of the west line of Scott Street, was awarded to L. H.
