AGENDA SESSION
FEBRUARY 15, 2012 12
Quarterly Report for Specialized Training — Police Department
Chief Boykins stated the Police Department is currently undergoing re- certification on the
use of tasers. He noted there are situations where the officers have both hands full and if the
suspect attempts to grab the taser away, the officer needs to know how to respond, and when
it is appropriate to use the taser. Ms. Beachkofsky added there are new laws coming out of
the Ninth Circuit Court that say you can't just taser someone without good cause. She noted
it is important for the Police officers to be trained on when and how to use the tasers legally.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Cottrell declared the meeting
adjourned at 8:39 a.m.
BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY
Patrick Cottrel , Pr pi ent
Laura A.
