Tuesday July 27th..1920. Continued. <br />The Board gagnted the New Jersey Railway Company permission to <br />re -locate manholes and inlets on their right of way uner private contract, plans <br />and specifications to be filed with the Board of Public Works and all work to be <br />under the supery is i on of the Engineering Department. ° <br />Petition filed by Br uao De Peape in regard to laying sewer to grade <br />on Dunham Street as follows:- <br />Board of Public. Works ° ° ' ' ' ' ° ° ° ° ' July 26th.,1920. <br />South Bend, Ind, <br />Gentlemen: - <br />Mr. De Peape contractor for the Dunham Street sewer in making the <br />excavation for the sewer, finds the water main crossing the trench at such a depth <br />that it is not possible to lay the sewer to grade. <br />° <br />Due to the fact that -the'McPherson Street sewer which forms the outlet <br />for the Dunham Street alewer is so shallow, we cannot lower the sewer grade and go' <br />under the water mein. <br />This makes it necessary that we either siphon under -the main which would <br />be unsatisfactory or that trhe Board order the Water Department tb lower the <br />water main to such an extent that they could go underneath the sewer. <br />The sewer as -designed is only about s i x feet deep and if we raised to go <br />oveV, it would only be a trifle over five feet deep. <br />Yours very truly, <br />FREDERICK J. D. T ep3 a Commissioner of Buildings, <br />in regard to C. E Staples permit on moving of house from No. St. Peter <br />Street to 1002 E. Miner Street over asphalt pavement on Cedar Street. Same hled <br />up for one week or until Wednesday August 3rd.,1920. <br />Sidewalk extensions ordered in on Corner of Miami Street and Victoria <br />Miami Street and Altgeldt and Fellows and Wenger Street. <br />Petition filed for pavement on Bowman Street from High Street to <br />Miami Street. Same placed on file. <br />Etition filed for lights on Parallel Street at corner of Parallel <br />a.nd . Wilbur St. and Thomas Street. Same referred to Tbos. Beaning for report. <br />Partial estimate allowed L. H. Webster on Division St. <br />Trunk sewer at........... ................... ................. 6.136.00 <br />Petition for sidewalk on East Wayne Street from St. Louis Blvd. <br />to first alley West. Resolution ordered on same. <br />Petition filed for Trunk Sewer on.Meade Street from Huron Street to <br />Grand Trunk Western Ry. Co. tracks. <br />
