Board members did not discuss any <br />subject matter other than the subject matter as specified in the Public Notice. Martin, Clerk <br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 11 2007 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, , <br />2007, with President Donald Alford and Board Members Juanita Dempsey, Bruce J. BonDurant, <br />Patrick D. Cottrell, and Jack Reed present. Also present were Police Chief Thomas Fautz, Fire <br />Chief Howard Buchanon and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. The meeting was held in the <br />Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13th Floor, County City Building, South Bend, Indiana. <br />ACCEPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. BonDurant, seconded by Mr. Cottrell and carried, the minutes of the <br />Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular meetings of the Board held on <br />November 27, 2007 were approved. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE RETIREMENT -CORPORAL DAVID JELINSKI <br />President Alford advised that Chief Thomas Fautz has submitted to the Board the Application <br />and Declaration for Retirement for Corporal David Jelinski effective December 26, 2007. In his <br />letter, Chief Fautz noted that Corporal Jelinski is retiring in good standing after serving for the <br />last thirty-three (33) years and one (1) month. Chief Fautz joined the Board in thanking him for <br />his years of distinguished service to the South Bend Police Department and the citizens of South <br />Bend. Members also wished him a long and happy retirement. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Cottrell, seconded by Ms. Dempsey and carried, the retirement was accepted and approved. <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVERETIREMENT -CORPORAL ROBERT BADOWSKI ' <br />President Alford advised that Chief Thomas Fautz has submitted to the Board the Application <br />and Declaration for Retirement for Corporal Robert Badowski effective December 31, 2007. In <br />his letter, Chief Fautz noted that Corporal Badowski is retiring in good standing after serving for <br />the last thirty-two (32) years and sixteen (16) days. Chief Fautz joined the Board in thanking <br />him for his years of distinguished service to the South Bend Police Department and the citizens <br />of South Bend. Members also wished him a long and happy retirement.
