That icon develops a <br /> vocabulary that's used throughout the park. <br /> This building will attract tenants, inspire <br /> developers to do something more than a box <br /> building, and will add to the development <br /> and image of downtown. It would be a built <br /> portrayal of high tech innovation. <br /> This building requires visioning and a <br /> conceptual image that can be sold from a <br /> marketing standpoint, but that we can also <br /> afford to built, and can easily construct as a <br /> template for future developers on the site. <br /> The urban forest was the concept, to look at <br /> the sustainability of the core and creating a <br /> symbiotic ecosystem. Mr. Lake pointed out <br /> the features on the rendering, all culminating <br /> in the center traffic circle. Another rendering <br /> view of the park showed a center spire that <br /> would showcase sustainability. It could have <br /> a wind spire in it. It could have some photo <br /> voltaic rays, if that spire comes down to <br /> harvest energy from the sun which would <br /> help to offset the power needs in the park. <br /> Icons on the rendering that appear to be trees <br /> are proposed solar trees that would have <br /> photo rays on them that would collect the <br /> sun's energy. They are an artistic portrayal <br /> of the urban forest, but they would be <br /> functional. That's the key. We want to <br /> represent the form, but we also want it to be <br /> functional. If it doesn't help the ecosystem, <br /> then we're not going to put it there. <br /> As far as land use planning for the site, we <br /> 61 <br />
