REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 11, 2018 272 <br />and attest, respectively, a quit claim deed in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit B <br />conveying all of the Board's right, title, and interest in the Property to the Commission. <br />3. The Board authorizes David Relos of the City's Department of Community <br />Investment to act on behalf of the Board in presenting the deed for recordation in the Office of <br />the Recorder of St. Joseph County and executing any other document necessary to effect the <br />Board's conveyance of the Property to the Commission. <br />4. Martin, Clerk <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 48-2018 — A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC <br />WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND INDIANA APPROVING THE DONATION OF <br />ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO THE ST JOSEPH COUNTY LIBRARY <br />Mr. Gilot noted St. Joseph Valley MetroNet and St. Joseph County funds are also being allocated <br />towards this project. Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Fritzberg and <br />carried, the following Resolution was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />RESOLUTION NO.48-2018 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, APPROVING THE DONATION OF ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO THE <br />ST. JOSEPH COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend of Public works ("Board") is the contracting body <br />for the City of South Bend, Indiana ("City") and the Board has the authority under the laws of <br />Indiana to purchase, acquire and lease property; and <br />WHEREAS, the St. Joseph County Public Library ("Library") is an Indiana non-profit <br />corporation ("Library") incorporated with the purpose of furthering the quality of life of <br />residents of the City as well as residents of St. Joseph County, Indiana through learning, <br />discovery, and experiencing; and <br />WHEREAS, the City, the Library, and St. Joe Valley MetroNet, Inc. d/b/a Metronet Zing, <br />an open -access fiber optic network serving South Bend and surrounding communities have been <br />pursuing Digital Inclusion Site Management Agreements to create digital access centers in City <br />facilities, including, without limitation, at the Charles Black Recreation Center ("Project"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to make a donate of $25,000 ("Money") to the Library in <br />support of its efforts toward completion of the Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has previously appropriate the Money by way of its Department of <br />Innovation and Technology Fund, and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of South Bend Board of Public <br />Works as follows: <br />1. The City, through the Board, hereby donates $25,000 to the Library, which <br />amount will be applied for the purpose of purchasing the technical equipment needs for the <br />Project. <br />
