Transportations guidelines, as they may be amended from time to time, <br />for determining if an employee tests positive for drugs or alcohol. <br />TESTING PROCEDURES <br />During the course of employment and employee may be required to undergo <br />further medical tests, as will as periodic drug and alcohol screenings, The <br />substance abuse policy is outlined more detail in this handbook. SELGE <br />CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. will pay for any expense associated with a medical <br />examination or drug and alcohol screening, All medical records will be kept <br />confidential and maintained in a file separate from an applicants or employees <br />personnel file, Questions concerning medical examinations or drug and alcohol <br />screenings should be directed to a Safety/Resource Manager. <br />I. PREEMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENS. All prospective new employees to <br />the company will be tested For the use of Illegal drugs and controlled <br />substances. Employment will be denied to any applicant or employee who <br />refuses to consent to a drug and/or alcohol test or who tests positive, <br />2. RANDOM TESTING. All employees will be subject to random testing <br />without warning. <br />3. REASONABLE SUSPICTION TESTING. If SELGE CONSTRUCTION CO., <br />INC. suspects that an employee has violated SELGE CONSTRUCTION CO., <br />INC. Substance Abuse Policy or suspects that employees work performance <br />or on the job behavior may be affected by the use of drugs or alcohol, such <br />employee will be required to submit to an appropriate drug or alcohol test. <br />Factors which may warrant reasonable suspicion testing include observations <br />by a trained supervisor or other company officials of specific, <br />contemporaneous, particularly observations. concerning the employees <br />appearance, behavior, odor, speech or other observations characteristic such <br />as sudden changes In behavior, repeated failure to follow instructions, <br />discovery of alcohol, illegal or.other suspicious substances in the employees <br />possession or near the employees workplace, unexplained or frequent <br />absences, and personality changes. <br />4. RETURN TO DUTY TESTING. Any employee returning from layoff or leave <br />of absence of more than four ' (4) weeks in duration shall be required to <br />submit to an appropriate drug or alcohol test before returning to or resuming <br />work for SELGE CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. <br />5, POST -ACCIDENT TESTING. All employees will be required to submit to an <br />appropriate drug and alcohol test following a work -related incident or on the <br />job accident. <br />JAWARY 1, 2007 <br />22 <br />
