Burke Engineering, Ltd (CBBEL) is pleased to provide this revised proposal <br />for professional engineering and planning services related to the Fellows Street Corridor <br />Improvement, Phase 2 project in the City of South Bend. The original contract for Phase 1 <br />was approved on April 25, 2011. Based on the Community Progress Plan and the alignment <br />alternative analysis developed in Phase 1, the attached exhibit is the approved design <br />alignment alternative. The following is our understanding of the assignment, scope of <br />services, and estimated fee In support of the revised Fellows Street Corridor Improvements <br />Phase 2. <br />UNDERSTANDING OF THE ASSIGNMENT <br />CBBEL understands that the City is seeking assistance for the design of the improvements <br />along the Fellows Street corridor as determined in the Community Progress Plan for the <br />Erskine Neighborhood and shown on the attached exhibit. This project Will include widening <br />and improving the alignment of Fellows Street and Chippewa Avenue between Ireland Road <br />and Michigan Street. The project will also include drainage improvements along the <br />corridor. <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Task 1— Design Services <br />This task Will include the design and preparation of final construction documents for the <br />project. Plans and specifications Will be prepared in accordance with City Standards and <br />Specifications. <br />Plans Will be developed using base sheets created from the topographic survey. The project <br />will consider design features to address the requirements of the regulatory agencies <br />involved with this construction. This task Will also include coordination With utility company <br />representatives to identify potential utility relocation needs. Information gathered during this <br />IL <br />103 Christopher B.
