This report was very carefully considered by the members of <br /> the Board and it was decided that due to the fact tha� the State is <br /> intending to take over esrtain thoroughfares in the City of South <br /> Bend after J'anuary lst �n.d maintain them that definite �ction in regard <br /> to this recommend�tion be withheld until further investigation shall <br /> be made. This action was taken upon motion of b2r. �'�nderson, seconded <br /> by Mr. Zillmer and unanimously earried. <br /> The Chief referred to the Board a communication from the NationaZ <br /> Safety Council w-ith reference to dues for mer�bership. This Member- <br /> ship having been paid for by the South Bend Civic Safety Council in <br /> times past �nd there being no appropriation for it in the Poliee <br /> Departr�ent, the Board referred the matter to Controller Zillmer and <br /> Clerk Thurn to see if some way could be found to continue the member- <br /> ship. <br /> Continu�.tion certificates of special police officers' commissions <br /> were approved for lacob L. 1Plalfe, Joseph Ia2.
