301 Mr. C. N. Hildebrand appeared befre the Board in regard to petition filed sometime ago in regard to placing of poles in alleys and sate was approved as follows s- South Bend, Indiana. March 1st., 1922.' Honorable Board of Public Works, South Bend, Indiana. Gentlemen: - Permission is hereby respectfully requested to make use of the City streets and alleys as follows: - To set 1 pole and l anchor in the alley between Michigan and Main St. Division and Monroe Street on the east side of alley. Also to place 2 way conduit- to the pole from existing manhlle at intersection of alley between Main and Michigan St., Division and Monroe Streets. About 60 feet of conduit pavement to be dugout. Remov standing pole and anchor. To replace 2-451 poles with 501 poles and set 2 anchors in alley between Main and Michigan Sts. on each side of Lake Shore R. R. tracks. To replace 33 existing Old Home Company s poles in the alley between Main and Michigan Sts. From Sample Street south on the west side of alley to Ewing Ave. These pole replaoements necessary on account of this Company routing the Indianapolis Souhh Bend Toll Circuits on,this pole line. Beaning as follows: - At the semond alley south of Indiana Ave. place the poles at the Northwest corner of the Bout_alley south.of Indiana Ave. place the pole at the north west corner of the alley. Place the last pole at Ewing Ave. to the north to the new curb to be built on Ewing Avenue and do nct place poles Opposite the poles on the east side of the alley. Try and keep 20 feet between the poles of different pole lines, T. H. Bearing. Approved as per above report. South Bend, Indiana. - July 27,1922 . Gentlemen: - Please grant this Company the permission.to move 10 existing Indiana and Michigan Electric Co. -poles in the alley between Main and Michigan Arom Fairview t o Donmoyer Ave. These poles being located on the west side of the alley, we are asking permission to move to the east Side of the alley, on account of our long Distance Toll Circuits to be separated from power and transmission lines. Arrangements hove been made with the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company for the Indiana Bell Telephone Company to perform this work. President. Pole said Wire Inspector made the following report on order in regard to moving of poles in alley between Michigan Street and Main•Street from La Salle Ave to Colfax Avenue and City Hall Court. The State Inspector of Indiana Bell Telephone Company was in the this City Monday July 24th., with Mr. Hildebrand the City Foreman for the Telephone,Co. both men were inspecting these alleys in the rear of the City Hall and said"the poles would be removed in 60 days.
