<br />Concerning the improvw t of the roadway of Hine 4
<br />Walnut Street to. Studebaker Street in pursuance to Resolution No* 993 the petition of free-
<br />holders residing an said street is,considered, and the report of the City Engineer is
<br />received and all -evidence is heard, and the Board finds that said petitioners constitute
<br />a majorit in.number of -the freeholders residing upon sgid street to be improved that
<br />said ppeti ion is sufficient and it, is therefore considered, and adjudged -that said improve-
<br />ment be made with asphaaltic concrete the kind of pavement requested in said petition; and
<br />the City Engineer, reports that Williston Construction Company is the lowest and best
<br />bidder for said kind of paveement•, sand the Board so finds and lets the contract for

<br />Resolutions were adopted by the Board:
<br />STREET OR ALLEY IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION
<br />NO. 1012.
<br />Be It Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,
<br />St. .Joseph County, State of Indjsanw, that it is desired and deemed necessary to improve
<br />Marine Street from Indiana Avenue to Calvert Street , as follows, to -wit:--
<br />Said street shall: be graded and the roadway thereof shall, be paved.,
<br />and also the roadway of certain portions of the streets and alleys which en -ter d.r inter-
<br />sect said street shall be graded and paved. The paving material to be used,, in making
<br />said .improvement shall be Sheet Asphalt, Bitulithic Asphaltic concrete, brick or
<br />Portland cement concrete pavement seven (7) in hes thick, and the foundation shall be
<br />Portland cement concrete six (6) inches thick for the sheet asphalt, bitul- this, €asphsa:lti
<br />concrete and -brick or rolled gravel six (6) inches thick for the brick, also cement curb
<br />shall be constructed along said street where same is necessary and not w1ready constructe
<br />manholes, storm inlets and conduits, shall be constructed where necessary, all manholes
<br />tops and storm water inlrts shall be set to the proper grade, cement marginal,curb
<br />shall be constructed at all street and alley intersections where necesssa;ry, all as is
<br />more particularly shownand
