Board met in regular session at 9:00 A.M. All members present, City Engineer and Mayor Seebirt present. Petition filed by the New York, Central Rajtlread ,Company ,by Atter Attorney Clements requesting Permission for sidetrack for MoorWTrothers Fruit C• be constructed from the main, tracks of said ratilroad across the alley along an an adjacent to the northeast side of the right of way of satld railroad company an and extending diagonally from Bronson.Street to Carroll Street in this City. Mr. E. H. Potter. Agent of N Y. C. Ry. Company and Meoren Brothers ,resent.. This matter was discussdd and the board advised that an agreement be prepared and presented to the 1joard. ' Engineer filed assessu:ent roll and final estimate for Grading and cement walk on Eking Avenue .from Miami Street to Ernsperger Street, under Ire} rovement ResOlution Na, 9049 In the City of South Bend; Indiana. Resolvved, that notices as to the assessments be published on the 19th. day of •July 1922 and on the 26th. day of July 1922 in the South Bend Tribune and News Times,stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amounts,of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 2nd, day, of August 1922 at 7t15 P,M. Resolved :Dither that the entire work under the above contract be accepted and approved and the final estim ate thereon allowed, Written remonstrance filed against pavement on Carrell Dtreet from Paris Street to Broadway. Reed: & Sons Contractors at prices bid, Contractors bond of'JOseph Szewda for the sum of 419000.00 approved by the Board., "Contracts for pavement on Main Street from Indiana Avenue to Ewing Avenue and Hine Street from Walnut Street to Studebaker and Bowman Street from Miami Street to Studebaker Park awarded as fllewsi- Concetning the improvement of the roadway of Bowman Street from Miami Street to Studebaker Parl with asphalt, asphaltic concrete, bitulithic , concrete, concrete or brick in pursuance to Resolution No. 994 the Board finds that no petition has been filed with said Board by a ma jortty in number of the freeholders residing on sais street to be improved, requesting that it be improved with a 'different kind of pavement than the kind heretofore adopted, by the Board in its preliminary order; and the City Engineer reports that the White Construction Company is the lowest and best bidder for the kind of pavement heretofore adopted by the Board, and the Board find that the White Construction Co, is the lowest and best bidder and hereby lets the contract for said improvement to them and orders -that said improvement be made with Asphaltic concrete using Mexican Asphalt and all proceedings heretofore had in this matter are hereby confirmed andd approved.
