Davis ap wired before the Board and <br />filed the following written regiuest which was approved by UN"Board. <br />July 1191922. <br />Board of Public Works , of <br />City of South Bond, Indiana . <br />Gentlemen: <br />Sppecial permission is asked for to erect a. combination electric sign and <br />Marquise in front of the. South Bend Inn at 132, North Main St. by Lwninous Sign Co. <br />As explained to the Board this A. 11. this operation as an electric sign having <br />three signs and filled,inbetween _them for a roof will make a combination st_gn and <br />Marquise 8' 0" Wide X 12' 0" projection. <br />Respectfully, , <br />APPROVED Geo. Freyermuth of Freyermuth and Maurer Archit&cts appeared before the <br />Board and presented petition to vacate the Ile between Madison Street and Cedar Street <br />leading from Notre Dame Avenue east to the ji-rs alleyy east of Notre..Dame Ave. running <br />north and south' 165 ft. signed by John L. Worden 1011 E. MaI dison Street -and Sisters of <br />the Holy Cross Hospital Association by -Mother M. Aquinas President. The reason for <br />vacating this, alley is that St. Joseph Hospital owns a quarter block located at the north-- <br />east corner of Madison St. and Notre Dame Ave. and wish to purchase the ad'oining <br />roperty to the north'to use for further improvements to hospital. The alley has never <br />Been graded and the closing .of it would not interfere with any otherproperty. <br />Mr3.F;eyermuth ex+plained that he was drawing plans for additional <br />room fodr the Si Jo;e h s uosrital and they would need alley Vacated. Be SLAUGHTER <br />President. <br />Attorney Yeagley appeared before the Board in regard to sand washing <br />down on to sidewalk from a.11e south off of Donald Street between Michigan Street and Main <br />Street. This matter referred to the Street Commissioner for investigatiol. <br />The Board purchased -one underwood Typewriter for the Building Dept. <br />for the sum of A75.00 allowance on old machine for exhhange $27.50, leaving 075.00 to be <br />paid on machine. <br />Board ordered a, notice sent to Geo. Hoffnwn,to build sidewalks on <br />south side of Corby Street between Eneriek Street and Hill Street where there ae no <br />n i dewa.lks . <br />Petition filed by Alex Coquillyd for to improve East Campau. Street <br />betwen the first alley east of Walsh Street on the north side of the extrmme east end of <br />the Coquillard park with a lateral sewer, this being a continuation of the present Campau <br />Street sewer Rise Also cement walk on East Corby Street from Walsh Street to and includ- <br />ing Lot 294 third plat°of Park Alace Reso utions ordered on same. <br />Propety owner apraared before the Board and requested permission <br />to place sewer in 1st, alley west of Walnut Street on Liston Street. Same granted. Work <br />to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. <br />Ross J. Martin appeared before the Board in regard to bill <br />rendered the City in June 1921 for repairs to the City Electrician's car for 144.25 <br />Board instructed clerk to refer these bills"to City Control)_er and see if same could be <br />paid. <br />Potions were filed and resolutions were ordered as follows: - <br />Sidewalks on both sides of Roberts Street from one block south from <br />Mishawaka Avenue. <br />Resolution ordered for Dmuement on Fassnacht Avenue from North <br />Walnut Street to Johnson Street,. <br />Resolution ordered fo pavement on alley running north and south <br />between south William Street and South Taylor Street from West Wayne Street to West <br />Division Street. <br />• Resolution ordered on Stull Street from Michigan Street to Main <br />Street and from Main Street to Lafayette Street. <br />Resolution ordered for grade,,curb and walk on Gertrude Street <br />from Prairie Avenue to Ewing Avenue. <br />Resolution ordered for grade, curb and walk on Adams Street <br />
