�� . � <br /> � <br /> � <br /> POLICE DEP�RTMEI�TT - Chief Lane present: �� <br /> � <br /> The Chief submitted his report in reference to �'ifteen minute <br /> parking at 219 , 221 and 223 South Main Street as per report of Officer <br /> Ernest l�Ziller, who stated that fifteen minute parking could not be <br /> enf'orced and f'or that reason did not reconmend that it be established. <br /> Final decision regarding this was held up pending further investigation <br /> by the Chief of Police. <br /> A request v��as made of the Board to exchange two German make c�.meras <br /> purchased in June of 1936 for use in the Accident Prevention Bureau <br /> for one Graphlex camera at an additional expense of approximately �50.00. <br /> Due to the fact that the cameras previously purchased were not adequately <br /> adap�ed 'to this �arork, upon regular motion seconded and carried the <br /> Board authorized the egchange, the original cameras being traded in for <br /> practically the same price paid for them. <br /> � The matter of ne��a cars for the Police Department to be purchased <br /> under the 1937 budget tvas discussed and it was the concurrence of the <br /> Board that the Chief make his recor�mendations as to what type and make <br /> oi' cars should be considered. The Chief j�vas requested to make his <br /> recommendations at an early meeting. <br /> A vacancy appeared on the Police Department, due to the resi�- <br /> nation of Captain William Hosinski. The Board, upon recommendation of <br /> the Chief, upon regular motion seconded and carried decided to re- <br /> instate John I. Nor�hrup, subject to physical examination by the Police <br /> Doctor and also passin� for the pension fund Doctor and subject to <br /> assignment of duties by the Chief of Police. <br /> The Seeretary reported having received responses for bids on Car <br /> No. 6 that was demolished in an accident recently and bids were <br /> received from the Scherman-Schaus-Freeman Corporation - �50.00, <br /> South Bend Auto Parts Cornpany - �40.00 and the PJledoti�� Salvage Company - � <br /> �22.50. The Board authorized Scherman-Schaus-Freeman Company to <br /> remove the wreck from the Water Vlorks Garage, allovaing �50.00 on car <br /> purchased next year. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 11:00 A. �ll. � <br /> . ` C�c�►��2 <br /> Chairman <br /> ATTEST• _,-�� Clerk <br />
