Public Hearing <br />(1) continued... <br />Public Hearing Resolution No. 2398 <br />for all the other areas outside of the original <br />Airport area and LaSalle Square area. I want <br />to see that area taken care of first. I'm just <br />cautioning you. It's a slippery slope. I don't <br />want to see us start sliding down it, start <br />giving money everywhere for whatever ails <br />us. We need to come up with a strategy. If <br />there's no strategy, we need to develop one, <br />and we need to stick to it. That's my word of <br />caution and my word of hope for the new <br />year. Thank you. <br />There was no one else who wished to speak <br />regarding Resolution No. 2398. <br />(b) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 2398 a Supplemental <br />appropriation resolution of the <br />Redevelopment Commission (Airport <br />Economic Development Area). <br />Mr. Inks responded to Mr. Niezgodski's <br />comments. He noted that here is a draft <br />strategy for the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. Staff will be finalizing <br />that over the next several months. The <br />budget put together for the appropriation puts <br />a great deal of deference to the needs of <br />LaSalle Square. The rough internal working <br />budget is for $1,750,000 for 2008. Later on <br />today's agenda the Commission will take its <br />first action of concrete steps to make <br />progress in the LaSalle Square area.
