Board met in special session at 10:00 A.M.: All members present. <br />This neetin set for this date on ccount of Mgmorial Day coming <br />on Tuesday y 30th., 1922, a regular meeting day. <br />Attorney S. Crumpacker appeared before the Board in regard to <br />an acce Lance to Ordinance No. 2127 and same was approved by the Beard and to be <br />attache to and made a part of Ordinance No. 2127, on file in the Oity Clerk's office. <br />South Bend, Indiana, <br />Au ust 1921. <br />TO THE BOARD. OF PUBLIC WORKS, OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND: <br />This Indenture witnesseth; That the Pittsburg, Cincinnati,_ Chicago <br />,and St. Louis Railroad Company does hereby accept and agree to abide by and conform to the <br />Provisions contained in Ordinance #2127, passed by the Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiama, on November 8th., 19201, and approved by the Mayor of said City on November <br />12th., 1920 and which is recorded in Ordinance Record #5>at page 362 of the Ordinance <br />,Records of said City, which Ordinance authorities the construction of additional tracks across <br />Lafayette Boulevard Franklin Street and the first alley west of Franklin Street in said <br />City and the relocation of two catch basins, all for accommodation of the traffic of said <br />railroad. > <br />In Witness Whereof the said Railroad Company has caused it's name <br />to be signed hereto by it's duly Authorized officers the day and date above written. <br />Attest: <br />APPROVED <br />MAY3121922. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />BY L. Lippman appeared before the Board and requested that the <br />1st, alley eaatotrAfain Street between Colfax Avenue and La Salle Avenue be opened up also <br />east and west alley between Michigan Street and Main Street. This matter referred to the <br />Building Commissioner for investigation and report. <br />Petitions for change of type of pavement on Sycamore Street from <br />Colfax Avenue to LaSalle Avenue, also Michigan Street from South line of Donmoyer Avenue <br />to South City Limits., In regard to petition for Sycamore Street property owners requested <br />said pavement be put in with concrete, Also Michigan Street majority petition requesting <br />that concrete be put in instead of a sphalticconcrete , The Board after considering said <br />petitions and hearings parties present interested in same awarded entreat to Hoban & Roach <br />for contra t on Sggamore Street and deferred action on Michigan Street until Wednesday <br />May 31st.9 1922 at 7:15 P.M. > <br />Concerning the improvement of the roadway of Sycamore Street from <br />Colfax Avenue to La Salle Avenue in pursuance to Resolution No. 953, the petition of <br />freeholders residing on said street is considered, and the report of the Qity Engineer is <br />received and all evidence is hear4 and the Board finds that said petitioners constitute <br />a majority in number of the freeholders residing upon said street to be improved, that said <br />petition is sufficient and it'is therefore considered, and adjudged that said improvement be <br />made with concrete, the kind of pavement requested in said petition; and the City Engineer <br />reports that Hoban & Roach is the lowest and best bidder for said kind (fpavement, and <br />the Board so finds, d,hd lets the contract for said improvement to him, and orders said <br />smprovement to be made with concrete and all proceedings heretofore had in this matter are <br />hereby confirmed and ratified,- - <br />L.-B.
