Bend Electric Co. , Inc. 2.85 <br /> Sliok-Ideal Laundries 1.00 Ault Camera Shop 116.65 <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT - Chief Freeh present: <br /> The Chief again brought up the question of having the chemical <br /> repaired, as it is beooming more unsaPe continually, and the Board <br /> requested him to secure estimates, of the cost of repair and to report <br /> at the next regular meeting. <br /> ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - Mr. Qualls present: <br /> Mr. �,ualls submitted report of fire alarms registered during the <br /> month of l��ay and a comparison oP the same activities for the same month <br /> during the last ten years. This report is on file in the office o#' the <br /> Board of Public Safety. • <br /> Mr. Qualls submitted a report of damage caused by an automobile <br /> collision at the intersection of ti"�estern Avenue and �Yalnut Street <br /> caused by a car driven by Mr. Crane, Deputy State Fire b2arshal, who <br /> disregarded the red light. The cost of repair amounted to �20.05. The <br /> Secretary was instrueted to collect this amount from the Fire 14�arshal. <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT - Chief Lane present: <br /> 1'he Chief submitted monthly report of the activities of the Police <br /> Department for the month of �sy, which report is on file in the office <br /> of the Board of Public Safety. <br /> A report of the operations of the police radio for the month of <br /> P�ay, whieh was compiled by Chief Radio Operator, �ras �submitted by the <br /> Chief of Police and placed on file. <br /> The matter of washing cars and permitting the �aater to drain into <br /> alley at 305 Y�est Colfax Avenue was reported upon by the Chief, who <br /> stated that Mr. Coffman had agreed to discontinue �ashing cars at the <br /> above �ddress until the capacity of his sewer has been increased. <br /> Communication �tas received from the �'dard Baking Company requesting <br /> that the Board deputize two additional special police officers for duty <br /> in their er�ploy in the persons of Alfred Fiehrman and Isaac Kryder. <br /> These commissions were approved and regular bonds were received in <br /> favor of the applicants. <br /> A request was made by Ray M. Smith oP the Electrical Departinent <br /> for special police officers commission, which the Board did not <br /> consider favorably and requested the Secretary to inform �r. Smith <br /> that a letter from the �lectrieal Superintendent would probably ansv�er <br /> the purpose equally as well. <br /> Surety bonds and continuation certificates in favor of the following <br />
