770 Tuesday September 28th.01915. Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.N. Kr A. H. Rice absent. W. W. Sibley, Chris. Aichele and Fred P. Fatter appeared before the Board and remonstrated against Staples and Ackerman putting in water connections on Indiana Avenue from Miami Street to Franklin Street, as same was.not in compliance with plumbing rules. The Board instructed the City Engineer to notify Staples & Ackerman to stop work on same until this matter was fixed up. Mrs.Ella Brown appeared before the Board and requested that a water tap ebe eliminated from part of her lot No. 63 on Indiana.Avenue. The Board notified Mrs. Brown it agreeablewith contractor v&o had contract for putting water taps in on Indiana Avenue, that they would cancel tap from part of Lot 63 , The Board ordered that the matter of the grand Trunk Western Ry. Co. planking between their tracks on Di%4 sion Street this City be referred to the legal ✓ department for enforcement. Attorney Oare appeared before the Board in regard to petition filed August 31st.11915. for petition for the Vandalia Railroad Company to lay a sidetrack his a alley'between Main and Lafayette Streets and Sample and Garst Streets same to be, a continuation of the track now accommodating the Campbell Folding Paper Box Company. The Board took said matter under advisement for one week. Communication received from Lucius B. Andrus of the Indiana & Michigan Elea. Company stating that an 80 C.P. street light was placed in service at the corner of Walsh and Madison Street on Sept, 13,1915 Lamp No. 931. Excavation bond for the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00)Dollars_. signed by Thilman Brothers was approved by the Board. September 29#1915. To the Hon. Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana. Gentlemen:- I herewith presented partial estimate No. 1. for the ; Uich igan Street Trunk sewer improvement from La Salle Avenue to Monroe Street in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and J. H. Chaill, Contractor. Completed work. 1010. Lineal feet of 60 inch pipe at $12.73 per foot #129857.30 1515 " " of 54 " " " 11.17 " " 169922.55 220 " " of 48 " " " 9.53 " " 2,162.60 136,.1/2 " " of Naholes " 4.00 " " 645.00 1776 " " of S incur pipe " 1.25 " " 2,220.00 8 Manhole covers 7.50 each 349769.45 65% of which amounts to ........................... .............�22,599.49 Respectfully submitted. Frederick J. Anderson City Engineer. The above estimate - was allowed. In regard toncomplaint about poles being outside of new curb on east sid side of N. Hill Street between Corby and Howard Street, the Board ordered that the Home Telephone Company be notified to replace said poles inside of the curb.
