RESOLUTION NO. 1055 RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION TRANSFERRING REAL PROPERTY TO THE COUNTY OF ST. JOSEPH, INDIANA WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment (hereinafter, the "Department of Redevelopment "), a governmental entity, is the owner of a parcel of real property, situated in St. Joseph County, Indiana, and being more particularly described as follows: The North 74.5 feet of the following: The East 3/4 of Lot Sixteen (16) in Ann Thomas' Subdivision of Bank Out Lot 74 of the State Bank's First Addition to the City of South Bend, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the Southeast corner of said Lot 16; thence North to the Northeast corner thereof; thence West 72 3/8 links; thence South to the South line of said Lot 16; thence East 72 3/8 links to the place of beginning. Commonly known as 906 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Key No.: 18- 3054 -2111; and The South Half of a lot or parcel of land bounded by a line running as follows: Beginning at a point 72 3/8 links West of the Southeast corner of Lot Numbered Sixteen (16) as shown on the recorded Plat of Ann Thomas' Subdivision of the middle part of Bank Out Lot 74 of the First Plat of Out Lots of the Town, now City of South Bend, platted by the State Bank of Indiana, thence running West 72 3/8 links; thence North to the North line of Lot Seventeen (17) in said Subdivision; thence East 72 3/8 links, thence South to the place of beginning. Commonly known as 911 West Thomas, South Bend, Key No.: 18- 3054 -2110, (hereinafter referred to as the "Real Property "); and WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36- 7- 14 -3(a), the Department of Redevelopment is governed and controlled by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission (hereinafter, the "Commission "); and WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36- 7- 14- 12.2(a)(3), the Commission may transfer real property acquired for redevelopment purposes to any other governmental entity upon such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon; and WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36 -7 -14 -12.2, the Commission is authorized to acquire and dispose of real property for use or in connection with the redevelopment of blighted areas; and WHEREAS, the Department of Redevelopment is desirous of transferring title to the Real Property to the County of St. Joseph (hereinafter, the "County ") so that the same may be utilized in the revitalization of the West Washington /Chapin Revitalization Area; and WHEREAS, the County is desirous of acquiring the Real Property from the Department of Redevelopment in order to allow for the development of an historic preservation museum and educational complex; and WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36- 1 -11 -8, the County may accept the transfer of Real Property from the Commission upon the adoption of substantially identical resolution adopted by its governing body; and
