This is EXHIBIT K, consisting of pages, referred to <br />in and part of the Agreement between Owner and <br />Engineer for Professional Services dated December 12, <br />2017. <br />AMENDMENT TO OWNER -ENGINEER AGREEMENT <br />Amendment No. 1 <br />1. Background Data: <br />a. Effective Date of Owner -Engineer Agreement: December 12, 2017 <br />b. Owner: Board of Public Works, City of South Bend, Indiana <br />C. Engineer: Chistopher B. Burke Engineering, LLC (CBBEL) <br />d. Project: Mishawaka Avenue Traffic Signals a proposed Fire Station #9 (Project) <br />2. Description of Modifications: <br />a. Engineer shall perform or furnish the following Additional Services: <br />1) Task I — ADA Improvements and Pavement Markings: CBBEL will identify <br />the removal and replacement of the existing curb ramps for the intersections of <br />Mishawaka Avenue at 20th Street and Mishawaka Avenue at Ironwood Drive. The <br />new curb ramp designs will be designed according to current ADA policy. The <br />intersection of Mishawaka Avenue at Ironwood Drive will be restriped to align the <br />east and west approach left turn lanes and eliminate the existing negative offset. <br />Pavement markings on the north and south Ironwood Drive approaches will be <br />reviewed and refreshed based on the final locations of the added crosswalks and <br />stop bars. <br />2) Task 2 -- Traffic Signal Modification Plans: This task will include the design of <br />the traffic signal modification. Base sheets will be prepared at a scale of 1" = 20' <br />using aerial images, the existing traffic signal data, and utility information which <br />will be coordinated by CBBEL. The extent of the traffic signal work is as follows: <br />a) Mishawaka Avenue at 20th Street: Existing dual call pushbuttons will be <br />replaced with separate pushbuttons for each crosswalk and installed on separate <br />traffic signal posts per MUTCD policy. Preemption cabling will also be added <br />leading to the new Fire Station. <br />b) Mishawaka Avenue at Ironwood Drive: All existing vehicle traffic signal heads <br />will be replaced and backplates meeting INDOT standards will be added. The <br />left mast arm signal heads will be replaced with 5 section signal heads to add <br />protected -permitted left turn phasing to each approach. The project will add <br />four (4) FUR FC 344 T2 thermal imagining cameras to capture all four <br />approaches.
