At the Morris, the hottest ticket in town drew 158,000 <br />audience members, moving it from 25`~ to 23'~ on Pollstar's top 50 Theater <br />Venues with 2,500 seats or less. We are fortunate to have such a fine <br />facility for our Symphony, Broadway Theat<;r League, Southold Dance <br />Theater and South Bend Civic Theater. There were 67 events at the Palms <br />in 2003, and we have already booked 58 for this yeaz. Fridays by the <br />Fountain continues to be a popular summertime event. They will start up again on June 11. The <br />Hall of Fame hosted three alumni tailgate parties and had over 68,000 attendees. There was <br />record attendance at Enshrinement Festivities, which get better every year. This Spring will see <br />the start of construction on the new Studebaker National Museum. This has been a long time <br />coming, but the persistence of many dedicati~ individuals has made it happen. Its proximity to the <br />Center for History will make a great museum campus and develop a strong partnership that will <br />benefit both institutions. <br />Osco's decision to close its downtov~rn store presents a special challenge. Many will miss <br />the services and goods offered there. We are actively recruiting stores to fill the void But with <br />the demolition of the St. Joe pazking garage, we aze also presented with a unique opportunity. We <br />will study the possbility for a larger development on those sites that could have as significant an <br />impact as Leighton Plaza. Other positive things are happening.
