2006, 2007, 2008 South Bend Fire Department Salary Ordinance <br />Page 6 <br />Chief and the City Controller. Such monies may not be carried over for year to year and <br />must be used by December 31St of each yeaz. <br />(b). The South Bend Common Council shall budget for the 2007 calendaz yeaz <br />only, an additional sum of $13,500 in the account referenced in ¶ (a) of this section. Said <br />sum shall be divided among each fire station so that each such station receives the <br />amount of $1,227.27 on or before January 2, 2007, to be used for station items approved <br />by a majority vote of the assigned sworn members at each fire station and which are then <br />submitted by each House Captain for review, approval and purchase by the Fire Chief <br />and City Controller. <br />Section VII. Clothin~/Uniform Allowance. <br />(a). Clothing/Uniform Allowance shall be $795.00 in calendaz years 2006, 2007 <br />and 2008. Clothing/Uniform Allowance shall be paid in four (4) equal payments payable <br />on or about March 15th, June 15`h, September 15`h and December 15th of each calendar <br />year. <br />(b). Clothing/Uniform Allowance shall be pro-rated to the date of termination of <br />employment for all qualifying sworn members of the South Bend Fire Department. <br />Clothing/Uniform Allowance shall not be paid during an individual's first yeaz of <br />employment with the department as a Firefighter or Firefighter Recruit. <br />Clothing/Uniform Allowance shall be pro-rated from a sworn member's first anniversary <br />date until the end of that calendar year. <br />Section VIII. Other Monetary Benefits. <br />(a). Safety Officers: The regulazly assigned Safety Officers shall receive, in <br />addition to his or her base salary, the sum of $3,000 in each of the calendaz yeazs of <br />2006, 2007 and 2008. <br />(b). 8-Hour Incentive Pay: An 8-hour Incentive Pay shall continue to be paid to <br />those individuals regularly assigned to work a forty (40) hour work-week [not to include <br />temporary duty assignments (TDB]. The sum of $1,154 shall be paid to such qualifying <br />individuals in each of the calendaz years 2006, 2007 and 2008. <br />(c). Inspector/Instructor Pay: Those Engineers who aze qualified and regulazly <br />assigned [not to include temporary duty assignments (TDI~] as an Inspector/Instructor, <br />shall be provided with duty shirts and a badge, and shall be paid at the non-rank specialty <br />pay as an Inspector or Instructor. <br />
