The pools have <br />done well. <br />2. Programs end in two weeks. <br />3. The Kid's Triathlon is in two weeks. 361 children are signed up. <br />4. 20,5171unches were served in the playground program. 34,170 participants hay-~e taken <br />part. <br />5. The National Men's and Women's Major Softball Tournaments start August ? at the <br />Belleville Complex. <br />6. The Lady Soldiers 10 and under basketball team went to Orlando, FL for a national <br />tournament. <br />7. The Star Run was held two weeks ago. <br />IX. Comments by the Director of Marketing & Promotions <br />1. Mr. Moyers reported that the accreditation process is nearing completion. The <br />accreditation team of three parks and recreation professionals will be visiting us next week <br />for three days. They will then submit a report to the certifying agency and we will have <br />our hearing in September at the NRPA national conference. <br />X. Comments by Maintenance Superintendent <br />1. Mr. Mike Dyszkiewicz informed the Board that the Windows on the River program is <br />going well. This project is clearin~~ brush and overgrowth along the riverbank to open <br />vistas on the river. <br />2. The Department is haulin~~ bleachers for the Hall of Fame Induction ceremonies. <br />3. Repairs are still on~~oing at the greenhouse. <br />4. East Race walkways are being repaired. <br />5. Boilers are being prepped for winter heating. <br />XL Comments by the Zoo Director <br />I . Mr. DeRosa reported that Zoofari had 3,000 participants. <br />2. He niet with the president of the Botanical Society and discussed needs and issues at the <br />C9onservatory/Greenhouses. <br />3. The parking lot at Kid's Kingdom is done and provides 80 new spaces. <br />XII. Comments by the Golf Operations Director <br />1. Mr. Nowacki reported that the weather has been good for golfing.
