South Bend Central Development Area <br />continue ... <br />obtaining quotes, contracting and overseeing <br />installation of the new fans. The <br />recommendation includes authorizing the <br />Board of Public Works to incur costs up to <br />$40,000 to accomplish the project. We did <br />get a preliminary estimate and are <br />comfortable that it can be accomplished for <br />$40,000. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki, seconded <br />by Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission authorized replacing two <br />exhaust fans in the Leighton garage, and <br />appointed the Board of Public Works as the <br />Commission's agent for quoting and <br />overseeing the project in an amount not to <br />exceed $40,000. <br />(4) Commission authorization requested to <br />Enter Upon Public Property. (Monroe <br />Park Neighborhood Association) <br />Mr. Inks noted that the Monroe Park <br />Neighborhood Association would like to <br />make improvements to the gateway sign for <br />their neighborhood. The sign is located on <br />Commission owned property at the northwest <br />corner of Bronson and Lincolnway East. The <br />improvements would include repair and <br />painting of the monument sign and <br />landscaping of the lot with trees and flowers. <br />The city's Building Block Grant program will <br />pay for $1,500 of materials. The <br />neighborhood association will contribute the <br />labor.
